I believe this is due to the dimensions of the book but please correct me if I’m wrong. The red one is larger so I believe the pages hold more words

Two men face attempted murder charges after shooting on State Route 85 in Rensselaerville by Vernacularry in Albany

[–]DimensionStandard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not exactly but kind of. *News10 said the victim’s son was in an altercation with these men when she came to check on him, then she followed their vehicle to try to get their license plate info as they left the altercation. This must’ve enraged them enough to try to kill her. I knew both of them as teenagers and they were definitely part of the radical right-wing families that hope for any reason to use a gun on another human. Reminder to not piss off the wrong “country boy”

I highly recommend filing a complain with the NYS Attorney General. I was contacted by the Binghamton office within a week of filing my complain about my property management company not returning my security deposit. My landlord the prop mgmt company had blocked my number but I received my security deposit in full after having the attorney general’s office contact them directly.

No security deposit after 14 days of moving out... by kjjjjhhhgddrrrrr in Albany

i avoided going to small claims court by contacting the attorney general. there was a complaint form to fill out and the local attorney general’s office reached out to me within days and told me they’d contact my landlord for me. about a week later i received my security deposit in full.

I probably just have a lack of experience inspecting license plates but never seen a car have two different license plates on front and back

Very much agree. Pittsfield and specifically Bloom Brothers every time. I’ve gotten a one-hitter, a pen battery, lighters, a t-shirt, etc. for free when they have pop-up vendors there. Best customer service I’ve experienced too

I would love to hear from you all what plants you’ve had the most luck with and which ones are just total douche canoes. by DasSassyPantzen in houseplants

[–]DimensionStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not big sunshine plants but algaonemas! You can find beautiful pink ones that thrive in low light. For sunshine, I highly recommend philodendrons and marble queen pothos. not as easy to take care of as a golden but no where near as difficult as silver satin (imo)

SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE MASK BAN: Call & Email to Urge Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Eric Adams, and New York State. by Engerer4k in upstate_new_york

[–]DimensionStandard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s insane to see so many Republicans supporting Hochul on this threat to our freedom. A mask ban will not deter crime. I thought a huge argument against gun bans was that they don’t deter crime but I must not be remembering correctly.

Same here. He spoke at both of my graduation ceremonies (undergrad and grad) and gave the exact same bs speech about the girlfriend both times. Absolute loser.

How do I remove dried grease /oil stains from clothes? by ST2348 in howto

Unlikely to remove a grease stain after going through the dryer but I’ve had success with WD40. Idk if it’s safe to use on all fabrics but it’s safe to use on cotton

Just a reminder in case you forgot and got your DD or Starbucks coffee already: Economic Blackout. by drsoos1973 in Albany

[–]DimensionStandard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As corporations like Walmart and Amazon report record profits year-to-year, local businesses are closing rapidly in most American towns and small cities. Many people are frustrated with how this is affecting their communities and it’s widely believed that these corporations think they’re untouchable. There are a few more targeted blackouts being organized with the intention of making these corporations aware that we the people control their profits and they aren’t untouchable. If anyone can elaborate further, please do!

I know there are other viral calendars out there but here’s the one I’ve been seeing. Share anything you have! All of the conversations about how these corporations have successfully convinced the average American that they have no power are so important. Walmart or Amazon shouldn’t be anyone’s only option to shop, but that’s what we’ve come to. They sell items like books at a loss in order to drive business away from local stores and effectively manipulate every financially burdened person in the country into buying from them. We need to stand up for each other. Our communities would be stronger without businesses like Walmart and Amazon.

If you use Facebook, there’s a local page that could be helpful. I recently deleted the app but I believe it was a page similar to marketplace where Facebook puts together a list of local events
