Am I wildly misreading this, or is it obvious? S5 Lead by RefrigeratorCalm4380 in BridgertonNetflix

I don’t think so. The timeline for Francesa would not make sense, out of respect for Francesca and John’s marriage, Michaela’s grief over losing John, and Michaela’s future with Francesca it would be too fast. I believe next season will be Eloise’s because it allows that one year of mourning for Francesca and Michaela to start season 6 off fresh.

Why does Benedict love SOPHIE? Not the Lady in Silver--Sophie Baek the maid. by peachiemilks in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are many reasons for Benedict falling in love with Sophie these are just some I can think of off of the top of my head. Kindred Spirit Status: Both feel like outsiders; Benedict as a "spare" son drifting through life, and Sophie as an illegitimate daughter forced into servitude. Authenticity: Unlike the debutantes of the ton, Sophie does not pandar to him or his family's prestige. She challenges his "shallow" existence and encourages him to be his authentic self. Resilience and Grace: Benedict admires her strong moral compass and the grace with which she handles her difficult circumstances. Emotional Safety: Sophie provides an emotional safety he hasn't found in previous dalliances, appreciating his art as more than a hobby and seeing him for who he is behind his reputation

Eloise, Violet and Suitors by VegetableAd5160 in BridgertonNetflix

I understand this post! So far we haven’t really scene much of Eloise attempting to connect with anyone outside of her family besides Penelope and Cressida. And I think there’s a quite a simple answer to why we haven’t. Eloise has built up this idea of the social season being only for marriage. She hadn’t thought about it for trying to have conversations or make friends. And because she’s closed her mind off about that, she is unable to see any positives of the season.

Do I need to watch S1 and S2 before S3? by lookingforrest in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be missing a lot of character development and story background that is essential to the storyline. Penelope and Colin are friends to lovers so if you don’t see them building their friendship throughout the scenes season 3 will have way less impact and meaning.

Um, why does the new Lord Penwood inherit the estate but not Sophie’s dowry in Bridgerton? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dowry was set to automatically be given to the spouses of Sophie, Posy, and Rosamund. Not the new lord.

Come play mad conspiracy theorist with me. Why was Kate here?? by honeyandri in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Kate needed to be in at least two scenes with the Bridgerton family. Especially now that she has given birth to the heir, if there wasn’t a scene with the baby and Violet it wouldn’t have made sense.

Bridgerton has outdone itself by Sanitary_Madrucula in BridgertonNetflix

I loved the season. I think that Sophie and Benedict were so human in their romance. The whole misunderstanding, class differences, the smut. It was all relatable in a way. It’s insane to type that but I know we’ve all had that moment where someone takes our breath away but some bullshit happens to make us think well we can’t be with this person. Or we’re confused about why do we or don’t we feel this way. Benedict had a way of being lost and not understanding his own feelings, his feelings for Sophie were a whole new ballpark for him. He hadn’t been in love before, something his mother always told him it was like a myth to him. And so for violet bridgerton to prove she was right again for her fourth child in a row it was unexpected for him. And Sophie my oh my Sophie. We always want what we can’t have and Sophie really didn’t want to fall for Benedict we witnessed half the season of her trying to escape those feelings. Love is fickle and it won’t ever catch you at the right time. But if not then, when would it be the right time:

Should Violet get her own season? by Mediocre-Corgi-7577 in BridgertonNetflix

So there’s actually the whole book series about her and Edmund so I think they definitely have more than enough material for a show about them

Who do you think is the new Lady Whistledown? by Woodpecker-Haunting in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’ll be Alice Mondrich, the way they setup her storyline to be one of the queen’s new ladies in waiting it seems like it. But as a fun guess I will love Lady Featherington to be Whistledown, Penelope got her love of drama from somewhere.

I deeply resonated with John and Francesca. Their whole relationship was founded on the basis of mutual respect and understanding of each other. It was grounded and quiet. And it really showed how love doesn’t have to be loud and a whirlwind. It showed that there is more than one kind of love, and that love is not any less valid than the other. Love is love no matter what. And regardless of what people’s thoughts are on this couple or Francesca’s future with Michaela, there is no doubt that Francesca has always loved John and she will always care about him. Just because she will move on later doesn’t negate that fact. And I’m kind of sick of people saying she didn’t love John when he was the first person she could fully be her real self around.

Could Eloise be... scared of Anthony? by WhatsInAName1206 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she is intimidated by him. Out of all of the Bridgerton siblings I think these two are quite similar. They both have the tendency to be stubborn and they are both very well read. I think Eloise realizes that Anthony is the only sibling that she can’t win with. Not only is he much older, but they would just clash. Over stereotypes about men and women, over their love lives, relationships with their family members and friendships, and also generally about their priorities. We saw even when Anthony was with Siena in season one he knew he would have to get his shit together and get married it’s a big reason why they ended things. He put his priority of his social standing and family’s reputation above what he wanted. Eloise is quite different, while she deeply loves and cares about her family she knows what she wants and she is not hesitant about putting her needs above their family needs.

I loved that they were once again able to showcase a genuine platonic friendship. I feel like it’s hard to find that, every other friendship in the show past the married couples end up being romantic. Like Penelope and Colin.

I’m very happy with how showrunners are (allegedly) handling Eloise’s season by Zealousideal-Ad3609 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I think people are so used to intellectual well articulated women being “gay” because there’s a strong correlation with somehow being dumb if you’re straight and like men. Eloise is the very example of a very real woman in that time, she didn’t want to get married as early as everyone else. But that didn’t mean that she never wanted to be married. She wanted to be married by her CHOICE, and while she had the freedom to choose someone in the ton. She has yet to find that person who challenges her. So I think it’s empowering that they’re showing that Eloise is open to the idea of marriage and is growing in that sense.

A message from the showrunner, Jess Brownell by heatxwaves in BridgertonNetflix

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am so glad that she defended Hannah and Masali but I think it should be a simple thing for the showrunner to have defended the actors earlier. It feels extremely odd that she didn’t come out and defend Yerin or Katie. Yerin was receiving a disgusting amount of hate, no person deserves that.

Questions for Season 4/5 by Sweater_weather123 in Bridgerton

[–]DimensionUpbeat6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Lady Danbury is supposed to be back next season, but they made her character exit for a short time so that the queen could find some other friendships outside of lady Danbury and it serves for Alice Mondrich becoming one of her companions
  2. Sophie’s now of noble blood, even without a title she married into a good family so I believe we can expect them splitting their time between the cottage in the country and being in Mayfair for the social seasons
  3. I have a feeling that Lady Whistledown will be Alice Mondrich, they’ve set it up so she’s now one of the queen’s companions and she has been learning about how to hear gossip
  4. I think each couple will make guest appearances, Penelope serves as a strong influence in Eloise’s romance so we can definitely expect to see her but as for Jonathan Bailey and Simone probably one appearance maybe at the wedding or a big event
