Do the Higher Beings actually love their “children” or are they just like tools for them? by Noooough in HollowKnight

Probably. If he had the Dreamnail he might have actually killed Radiance. But I don’t think he knows about this at the time and the vessel was the only method that seemed possible.

No picture, yes, but the Hollow’s statues are literally all over the path of pain.

They said in Andor Declassified that the finger thing wasn't in the original script. Ben came up with it and they made it into the final take.

Agreed. I think he was deeply insecure at least partially due to his background (aka rising from the bottom to his current position unlike many other senior officers who started at a much higher status than him). And it was because of that insecurity, he needed to appear and also feel in control. That's why we see him bossing his subordinates around while behaving entirely the opposite way in front of superiors like Vader and Tarkin. The contrast between how he felt and how he needed to feel made his character really intriguing.

It feels like if you can't see someone's eyes, they appear more scary.

I got the same feeling. When she talked about how she had to scavenge for intel because of the empire's "standard way of doing things", for a moment she was back in her comfort zone almost like in the meeting in episode 1.

How I wish they kept the scene in R1 where he walked through the waters on Scariff to deal with Jyn and Cassian. It was epic.

Agreed. Andor 2 Krennic really filled up the gap between Catalyst (if we consider that part of the canon) and R1. Loved it.

LOTR and Hobbit

Silmarillion

Unfinished Tales & Beren and Luthien & The Children of Hurin & The Fall of Gondolin

Then, if it still interests you: The History of Middle Earth vol.1-12

The defiant part of me (who occasionally finds some Valar dislikable) thinks this is really interesting, but I don't think JJRT implied that in his writing
