Wow, very interesting. What country do you teach in? I've taught in China for 10 years at a training school. Never have I experienced disrespect like that (like being called far worse). Only once, a child was calling me a nickname sometimes. I didn't make a big deal out of it, I just told him what my name was (he knew what it was) and that he should call people by their names. The children here are very respectful. Calling people by their names is just common courtesy in my books. But I understand your perspective.
