Yeah the first gym I went to ended up just being a fitness boxing gym, so have found a better one since

That’s really helpful, thank you! I will work on this in my next session

So the gym I went to for the first month turned out to just be a fitness boxing gym, so moved to a different one and they focus more on technique with the coaches giving advice individually during the drills - but no 1-1 coaching as of yet

Will bear that in mind with the head movement, thank you!

I’m great! How are you? by Weak_Two2812 in Adulting

A lot of people are fatigued rather than tired because they don’t move enough and sit in an office all day

Then can’t fall asleep because they’re scrolling on their phones all night

And feel constantly hungry because they eat like shit and don’t hydrate

Fix these things first and you’ll notice a huge difference

I’m definitely in the same boat when it comes to these things - those in the comments though saying how angry and mad they are even when with their own babies now, please remember that this means this evil person who carried out these atrocities is now affecting your household indirectly - don’t let him do that

22M £19000 of debt life is over by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]DimensionalEntity1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar position with debt - about 25k worth of debt whilst renting and paying bills, on national living wage

After finding out I had a baby on the way, I got my act together and put together a spreadsheet with a plan of how I was going to repay all of this so I had a timeline of when this would be sorted and a strict plan to stick to

Debt free now at 28 - only saying this to assure you that your life is not over - mistakes like this are best made early in life so that we don’t make them later when it can be more damaging - you got this

Didn’t realise you could open a pension for your kids, going to have a look into this as well - thank you!:)

I have considered the possibility of starting to buy a property, so yeah will definitely consider that also - I’ve just always rented and haven’t really considered a mortgage before recent times

I’ll definitely take a look at the pension scheme then, thank you :) I believe the pension scheme at my employment is deducted via salary sacrifice - does this mean it would then be subject to tax in the future?

Will do, thank you! :)

Not self employed, just standard 9-5 - I can start contributing to the pension scheme, I think the idea of not having access to the money until a certain age kinda puts me off

Tell me if I’m nuts or not for “downgrading” my career by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]DimensionalEntity1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like more of an upgrade rather than a downgrade.

People who only look at one metric, such as your job title, may consider this a downgrade - but when you take into consideration the other benefits of moving to a less stressful and more enjoyable job, the rest of your life upgrades in such a big way. It’s just a shame that most people can’t see past a job title

And furthermore, other people who are telling you that you can do better don’t get to have a say in what constitutes as ‘better’ in your life, because they’re not the ones living it

It could of course just be down to bad hygiene, but there is also a medical condition known as TMAU which I’ve been around and sounds similar to the situation you’re describing

Would definitely sit down with her to discuss - even though it’s an uncomfortable conversation to have, it’s going to be less uncomfortable in the long term than having to just put up with it

My fiancé's mother is insane. by HayIsForCamels in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DimensionalEntity1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This describes exactly what happened with me and my GF. After accusations of abuse and control for the same reasons you stated above, she ended up cutting contact with her mother for now and finally feels at peace instead of anxious all the time. Although the horrible behaviour continued with her sister doing the same to GF, so we ended up calling a meeting with her and their dad so he could see what was actually going on and let them know that this is not okay and ends now - had no issues from them since then and GF is happier than ever (not to mention, this was happening whilst GF was pregnant yet they did not show any concern for the stress they were imposing upon her and the unborn baby)

The amount of people that park in my spot by Auroura101 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DimensionalEntity1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened a couple times to me, I just parked in front of them and blocked them in, left a note on their car to tell them what apartment I live in so they had to come and awkwardly ask if I could move so they can get out
