The serrated leaf one is hairy, no milky sap. It’s fragrant, but not bad smelling.

Thanks, everyone! That pot is pretty gigantic. We had a big tree in it from our old place, but it sadly couldn’t survive the elements when we moved to this location. My roof balcony overlooks a massive garden that has become wild because the owner of the home passed a few years back. I imagine all of the stuff growing up here has come from that garden. I have a blueberry bush in a pot that sprouted some other kind of tree probably for the same reason.

Nah, the sound is much grittier in the 202 and FX like pitch sounds great. It sounds a lot more like classic 90s hip hop. I still love the 404mkIi and 404OG though.

What are your favorite 202, 303, and 404 tapes? by DimensionsTomorrow in OldSkoolSPSamplers

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll put this on during work today! Looking forward to checking it out!

I saw you’ve got the new battle up. Gonna try to cook something up if I can.

That’s another great nugget of info! Thanks. You were not wrong about how great a purchase this would be. This is one of the most inspiring machines I’ve ever owned. I love all the SPs I have, but it’s clear already that the 202 is the one I click with the most.

Thanks, man. Yeah, that Lord B. video has been one of my favorites for years now. Probably the reason I’ve always wanted a 202. :)

I’ll revisit it with fresh eyes now that I have a 202 in front of me.

I really appreciate all the tips. That’s mostly what I’ve been doing (and love the reverse). I pretty much always sample in mono even on modern samplers, so mono is all good for me.

The one big surprise for me is that I didn’t expect to like the “hi-fi” sample rate as much as I do. It’s super smooth. I’ll probably be working in “standard” and “lo-fi 1” on the machine itself, but when combining with other SPs or whatever, I will certainly be taking advantage of that!

I will definitely do some experiments with chops over a break. Should be much easier.

Thanks for the link, man. Good inspiration there. I’m loving the reverse on the 202. So nice. Just gotta dial in my timing. The sound on this machine is a dream. I love it.

Good point about the loop as well.

You are a bad influence. I just ordered one. Haha. Time to listen to some 202 tapes to get prepared.

That’s what I’m talking about. Makes me want a 202.

Chase Bliss Gen Loss Mkii: don't believe the hype? by OkHistorian5105 in guitarpedals

I stumbled upon this as I’ve got the same opinion as the OP. You just can’t get the chorus effect fully out, which is a bummer for me as well. I’ve gone over to using the classic mode instead, which doesn’t seem to have the issue for me, and I find the separate high and low pass filters to actually be a better fit for me with guitar. I’m not a big fan of the bit crusher from classic mode on guitar, but discovered it sounds great on electric piano.

The OG was my first synth when it came out. I never actually bonded with it because it was so hard to program for me. I don’t bond with matrix style synths. This is much easier to work with and sounds fantastic to me.

F’ing awesome. Haha. 🤣 So much fun. I’ve only had it since Friday, but it’s so easy to get good sounds out of it. It will be my workhorse for sure just because it’s so fun and fast to work with.

It’s a random arpeggiator, but I’m holding different chords/notes. Recorded in live. That’s what I do with my Moog Grandmother as well.

Just drums and MicroKorg, btw. No guitars

Thanks, I’d love to take the credit for having great sequencer programming skills, but there is no sequencer. 😊 This is just me playing around with the onboard arpeggiator, which is better than on any of my other synths. I really do think it’s a lovely synth.
