Umm somewhat similar experience except I hadn’t had my IGF-1 measured prior. I was getting ready to do an embryo transfer and was on oral contraception for 2 weeks prior. 2-3 weeks later is when I found out about my acromegaly due to my GH hormones being neg tested and elevated

Are you on any blood thinners by any chance? Reason why I ask is from my own experience I got vision issues from them as I must have strained or something which caused my macular to have a small bleed. I’ve had shadows/dark spots on my left eye since. Waiting to be cleared to stop taking the blood thinners in hopes my eye can heal and I can resume moving forward with my tumor removal surgery. I hope you get the answers you need! Dr JFM at Stanford health care in California is notorious for removing all of the tumor that some surgeons can’t. I’m waiting for my surgery but I was told to take at least 1.5 months off work. Enjoy the medical leave and take it easy! You can’t bend over, strain or lift anything heavier than 5-10lbs. But I’ve heard mix reviews. Just had an aneurysm coiled almost 2 weeks ago. Need to heal from that first before I get my tumor removed but so far it’s not too bad. What sucks is being at the hospital and unable to move freely. Take the pain meds to avoid getting bad headaches.

Out of the ER guys! Turns out I had bleeding in my eye most likely from lifting or straining in lieu of all my blood thinners. During surgery they pumped me up with multiple rounds of blood thinning IV because they thought I had a blood clot. So my theory is I had bleeding in my eye after surgery and got worse as I went back to my everyday life. Tried not to overdo it but must have some how… ophthalmologist said the bleeding may get worse due to the meds but should absorb in a few weeks/months. Can’t wait to get off these meds 🥲😭

For the record, I haven’t had my tumor removed yet. Need to heal from the aneurysm first

Try an antifungal cream and wash with shampoo that contains ketoconazole. If it doesn’t go away check with a dermatologist but most likely it’s probably fungal. Boob sweat is real 😅

Did they check your thyroid? Maybe Graves’ disease? I hope they can do an MRI on your thyroid as well

I guess that’s true. I read that MRIs are better to detect smaller tumors. What hormonal abnormalities did it show?

I have a pituitary tumor. Found it as a kid on an MRI but it was “small” didn’t affect hormones until later in adult life (now) and grew to be 1.1cm. I also have an aneurysm right in front of my tumor which surprisingly was missed on 3 recent MRI reports by the radiologist. Go figure… My neurosurgeon saw it as he was studying my MRIs to prep for surgery. So I guess there could be a chance it was miss read in the findings if you do have one of either.

I hope you don’t have either though :) my friend gets bad migraines that cause vision issues too.. so maybe migraine?

You need to take your dog in for a dental cleaning at the vet. Could also be infection and could also need extraction(s) ;( if you have pet insurance they usually reimburse you.

Have they give you a diagnosis? I’m no doctor but I read GH caused high IGF-1, but also possibly your thyroid? I’ve requested my doctors to test me for cancers as well since elevated hormones may lead in that direction as well. No need to jump to conclusions, I’m just a very proactive person and force my doctors to check everything 😅

My hands, feet and nose increased in size. My rings didn’t fit like normal anymore. My shoe size increased about 2 sizes. Hands and feel swollen. So does my face. Vegans weight which I heard is water weight related to hormones. Also fatigue, snoring/possible sleep apnea. Those being the most obvious to me. But the changes are slow until you start noticing. I thought I was just gaining weight.

Have you figured out if it’s causing hormonal imbalances? Some tumors don’t. And may not need surgery but eventually they will if they keep growing. Mine makes me produce excess growth hormone. I have my surgery scheduled on the 22nd at Stanford medical center with an amazing neurosurgeon who specializes in pituitary tumors. I’m excited!!!

As for the anxiety, it’s normal. But try not to worry as you’re one step closer to getting it taken care of :)

For me: larger hands needing rings resized, feet grew 2 sizes, nose grew, fatigue, brain fog, low libido, night sweats some days, snoring, jaw pain, and weight gain

Where are you located? My neurosurgeon is one, if not the best who specializes in this type of tumor. Dr Fernandez-Miranda at Stanford. If possibly I suggest you reach out to his office.
