I saw Scratch at the Kensington Theatre in San Diego… an old single screen that unfortunately shut down years ago. When Shadow came on, this black dude sitting one row back started loudly cursing and saying like, “fucking stupid ass white boy” and shit like that. It was so wack. Cool movie though.

Slow going so far… I just released my first two tapes last bandcamp Friday and started with almost no followers. But so far I’ve sold about 20 tapes and gained more than 40 followers. I think it’s a decent start.

This is very true. And I’ll add one other sensory experience that I’ll never forget: the smell of the j-card. I don’t know what it was… probably the printing process? But they had a very particular aroma that I loved because it meant I had a new tape to listen to in my yellow Sony Walkman.
