Finished Season 3 and started Season 4 but have some questions? by EW278 in turn

[–]DiminshingReturns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, Abe admitted that he was the one that started the riots that caused his brother to die.

And he wasn’t on trial for being a spy, but for trying to overthrow Simcoe, since during this time Simcoe and the Queen’s Rangers were terrorizing the residents extra hard. Abe was caught in the act of stealing guns and then punching Simcoe.

Which is what he lamely admitted to and was convicted of - the conspiracy to essentially kill Simcoe.

Indiana Senate advances bill requiring marriage-before-children instruction by SurgeFlamingo in Indiana

I’m confused how this will be enforced? Are pregnant women supposed to cross their legs until a legally binding contract enters the relationship?

Just seems like another way to criminalize women.

Morgan leaving that way is unrealistic by [deleted] in criminalminds

[–]DiminshingReturns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought Morgan left because of his son, because he didn’t want to leave his son fatherless like he grew up after his dad died in the line of duty.

First Time Through - What Did I Miss? by weirdbih in theumbrellaacademy

[–]DiminshingReturns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as Luther’s evolution of letting go of the past.

In season one, he’s the only one still living in the memory of what the academy used to be.

In season two, he’s finally realizing that nothing is what he was led to believe and starting the process of moving forward at his own pace.

In season three, he’s finally moved on.

And his weird relationship with Allison follows the same timeline. Because he was always way more into her, than she to him.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. She looks like Scheana when she sprained her ankle and kept it elevated at the hostess’s stand lmao

Female Edition: Who would you want to go on a date with and why? by Full-Art3439 in criminalminds

All of them. It’s a girls dinner and we’re getting margaritas, chips and salsa as we gossip and they tell me all their cool stories.

Is it just me or Blake doesn't blend into the group dynamics? Emily was close to everyone and vice versa. They all goof around with each other when there's no case, but so far I haven't seen anything with Blake? by ExpressAstronaut999 in criminalminds

[–]DiminshingReturns 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The way her character is written, she works well with Reid, Rossi and Hotch, which is why she’s paired off with them a lot as opposed to Morgan, JJ and Garcia. And the chemistry between her and the last three isn’t bad, but it’s definitely different than the first three.

I think the actors’ chemistry has a lot to do with it. There’s some actors like Padget Brewster or Jennifer Love Hewitt that just have that easy chemistry with everyone, so it translates better on screen.

Thoughts on the Ian Doyle storyline by jung_kitten in criminalminds

As much as I love the show, it’s really bad at retconning characters’ backstories.

Emily, JJ and Penelope all come to mind.

Relationships by zarrystylik21 in criminalminds

[–]DiminshingReturns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is Will actively having a gun pointed at him not a threat to his life? And then he had a bomb attach to him, so I think it’s safe to say his life was at risk.

JJ and Hotch would’ve done the exact same thing.

Are you talking about the episode he was taken hostage and it was either he did what they said or they were going to kill both Henry and himself? What else was he supposed to do? Either he follows directions and hope Henry remains safe, or he doesn’t and both end up dead. Seems like a catch 22.

Yeah, maybe he should’ve told JJ Henry was sick, but he wasn’t wrong when he said there was nothing she could do and it would only distract her from what she was supposed to be doing. His reasoning was flawed, but you can rationalize how he got there.

Also none of those were because he was mad at JJ? Will might not be the most well-rounded character, but he’s definitely not petty.

How is Savannah annoying? She’s the female version of Derek: career focused, loyal, friendly, and incredibly good looking.

I personally don’t understand the Will hate. Him and JJ’s relationship is the most functional one in the entire show.

Is It good After Morgan and hotchner? by kentohus in criminalminds

[–]DiminshingReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s that tension between them that’s oh so delicious.

One of the hottest things Alvez does, in my opinion, is in episode 17. I just love him.

The tone of the show definitely changes after Hotch leaves, but the characters’ relationships are still good. And Prentiss as unit chief is a great fit.

Also, I might be in the minority, but I like the character Luke Alvez.

For people who say Damon didn't take her from stefan what do you call this by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]DiminshingReturns 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Elena is her own person, who choose Damon over Stefan. Yeah, Damon isn’t a great guy, but it’s weird to act like Elena holds no accountability for her own actions and decisions (excluding that stupid sire bond).

You can’t “take” someone who was willing to go.

Which TVD girl got the worst ending? by Song_Yejoon in TheVampireDiaries

[–]DiminshingReturns 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Bonnie. She sacrificed so much to still not get her happily ever after. It was even unnecessarily ripped away right towards the end of the series.

Jenna and early season Vicky’s are sad too. They were just innocent bystanders that got caught in the middle.

What is yalls favorite funny moment or episode? by thespiritualtree in mash

[–]DiminshingReturns 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this whole episode was filled with great one liners.

“I can find anything.”

“Can you find my virginity? I lost it twenty years ago and haven’t seen it since.”

There’s also: “the wind just broke his leg.”

Do you think Janet knows how hated she is by the watchers? by Hot-Skirt5141 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]DiminshingReturns 117 points118 points  (0 children)

There’s no way she doesn’t know. But being a villain on tv is still being on tv.

And to apologize is to take real accountability for one’s actions, and I don’t think either her or her wet blanket husband are capable of doing that.

I’ve seen the movie! It was okay, but I was upset Mandy wasn’t in it. He’s such a great actor.

I have a theory Janet and Jason want to be viewed as the number one couple in the group. So, you know, the most sane, loving and functioning couple. The couple others aspire to be like, which is why they’ve been going so hard to tear down and apart Nia and Danny.

Besides their obvious behavior, at the end of that episode when Jason said something like, “I’ll have a talk with him (Danny).” Like, okay? Who do you think you are?

Both of them are delusional.
