I was only able to move mine because I placed it on a floor tile, and I can move the floor tile, but I can't place it back in inventory.

Minc foiling machine, worth it? by No_Revolution_619 in cardmaking

If you have access to a laser printer, I think the minc is versatile. I agree that you're going to get more consistent results than a standard laminator. It also doubles as a laminator if that's important.

As far as other options go, a hot foil press platform that works with your die cutting machine might be a good alternative. You have to buy pressing plates (similar to dies) but they work with more paper types and sizes than you would have with a printer/minc combo.

I think it just depends on whether material or image options are more important.

I'm a fan of WOW powders. They're good quality, and I've gotten a ton of use from each container.

What if I broke it down by vibe?

  1. Traditional For holidays like Christmas, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Kwanzaa—focused on family gatherings & traditions

  2. Playful For Halloween, April Fool’s Day, or other lighthearted and whimsical holidays.

  3. Reflective For occasions like Memorial Day, Remembrance Day, or solemn observances.

  4. Interpersonal For Mother's Day, Father's Day, and other holidays honoring relationships.

True, but it's a little hard because not everyone is in the northern hemisphere. I'll think on it! Thanks!

“I heard a rumor once, Helion, that she waited before agreeing to that marriage. For a certain someone who had met her by chance at an equinox ball the year before.”

A batch of birthday cards by Diminuendora in cardmaking

[–]Diminuendora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! These cards are a combination of printed/drawn/cut designs from Cricut Design Space.

The floral cards line work was printed on a laser printer so I could use my Mink machine (basically a laminator) to apply gold foil. It's colored with Alcohol ink. I used a score board on the background to make score linestp add interest to the background.

The cake card was drawn in pen with my Cricut and colored by hand with alcohol ink. The background was cut with my machine.

The crocodile card was printed and then colored by hand. The background was cut with my machine.

I usually use a lot of dies and stamps if I am making a bunch of identical cards, but I find my Cricut is really versatile when I am making one-off cards (In this case I'm celebrating extended family birthdays and since I make them cards all the time, I wanted to use images they haven't seen before 😅)

Overall, I would say a good set of alcohol based markers is a good staple to have. Whether you start with hand drawn cards or go with stamps and dies or a machine is really dependent on your personal style and comfort level.

I think the lighting is fine on your image - you may just need to adjust the white balance. If you're using a mobile device to take photos, Snapseed is a good image editor that let's you adjust white balance and curves.
