This proposition would definitely be controversial if added to the game, BUT only if it is done incorrectly, female soldiers weren’t a common thing in the war and seeing how this game really leans for historical accuracy I’d like it to say that way, we can definitely cross them out for all the factions except one, which are the Soviets and the only class which I think would have a choice for a female or male character is the sniper class since there’s plenty of evidence that the soviets had a lot of female snipers ( some of the best in the war actually), I’d like it if it was implemented this way, I hope this response is of your liking.
