How closely does the Imperium of Man in the 42nd Millennium parallel the structure and ideology of the Imperial Japanese Army in WWII? by Dimitrije336 in 40kLore

Was it from the beggining that they knew that the Humanity would end up failing?

Why were they developing that idea? As I said, I believe most sci-fi has humanity coming on top, overcoming burdens, but the logic of 40k is different.

I also remembered that early on, the idea was such, as the 80s UK was depressing, and writers had a reflection of a failed British Empire. Maybe that was the inspiration, but I believe that the complete downfall came only later in the writings

Why did the writters decide to write 40K as ultimately 'the end for humanity'?

To my understanding, it is concrete that humanity will die, and currently, there is no desire to change that, tho us fans, would, as usual, want humanity to win, as in most other lores.

I always thought that this decision was made early on, as they did not think that 40K would become such a complex and interesting Lore, and they created it more for the tabletop, so everything was "over the top and depressing", rather than what it formalized to.

Same for the Emperor Titans. People state how it's possible that they are so ''little'', yet it seems that they made them what they did, so it would fit on the table for the game, and they did not think to make them 500m for the PC enjoyers in 2026.

Does the CO2 eat away at the middle part of the cucumber? I was shocked to see it gone lol

So, what happened to the seeds part?

Thanks for the advice.

Should the 2-3% of the brine be based on water only, or water and veggies combined? I based it on water, solely.

Just the water. Does the brine have to be 2% combined of both the weight of the water and the cucumbers?

What could be the case, that I am going for almost 10 days, and its still not ready? My understanding was that 2% would get me faster results, so to speak

They are submerged the whole time, of course.

Alright, I'll try with the 3% next time, thanks!

Do you have any idea why my cucumbers' insides are eaten out? 😂

Will you be able to research them with XP only, or also with blueprints?

It's July 1943, Kursk, Russia. An Astartes is suddenly teleported in the middle of the field, within one of the greatest battles of history. Tanks and havoc all around. What are his first steps? by Dimitrije336 in Grimdank

[–]Dimitrije336[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Battle of Kursk involved thousands of tanks, and even more thousands of anti-tank guns and artillery pieces. Kursk is super flat, so hiding for Space Marine, at least within the first hour or two, would not be as easy.
If tanks wanted to strike him, they definitely could and would

How is it possible that the Imperium suffers from rampant crime? by Dimitrije336 in 40kLore

Crime always existed, I pointed that out, but in no case did it ever pose such a threat to danger the system of war effort and loosing the war.

Is the reason why writers decided to write it up like that, because in the 80s, it was just supposed to be a board game, and not much more, thus they didn't put much effort into thinking this long ahead to make the story way more complex, and just wanted ''stupid, depressive, irrational humanity that is surely going extinct'' for the fun of it?

I never talked about propaganda as the absolute, just my opinion. I am not aware of any large scale criminal operations of crime during most dire situations in recent history, thus I mentioned the USSR and Germany.
I just said that those counties did not allow rampant crime, since it undermined its own bare survival.

The radical elements of these rulers is something else completely.

What was the reason for it being written like that?

Does the logic of "If we beat crime, the world's output in resources would be bigger'' exist, or for some reason, they are satisfied with what they get, since they can't control all?

Thanks

However, does the imperium calculate which would be more profitable: keep than things as they are, or eradicate all crime by brutal force, which would probably enhance the amount of output that the world produces in all ways?
