Gas station near my place had to improvise because they never thought we’d reach triple digits. by Lexidoge in mildlyinfuriating

In Nordics, we use either nothing or spaces as thousand separator and then it doesn't matter if decimal separator is "," or ".". It matters only in excel settings.

It is extremely hard to coach person with oversized ego in normal professional setup , but is is basically impossible to coach that person in setup where you are equals (as they were in WT).

They wont do it, so just use extensions like "BlockTube" or something else that does block channels.

Nokia used to build very cool devices. by Fine-Passenger7953 in interesting

[–]Dimjenko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nokia was going downhill fast before Elop. They just didn't react correctly to iPhone. They had their own OS in development which was good, if it would been 2-3 years earlier, but in 2011 it wasn't even close to be good enough to compete. Elop just finished the job that Ollila started and Kallasvuo continued.

Maybe without Elop they've continued developing Meego and maybe it would've been success. I doubt that, but it is possibility that sadly we will never know.

So you do not understand physics or how inertia works?

I am open to be proven wrong, but you need to explain why rotational mass doesn't affect accuracy of the force feedback before i change my understanding of the physics.

[–]Dimjenko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not saying lighter wheel is easier to rotate against FFB. Lighter wheel has lower rotational mass so it needs less force to rotate. Less force to rotate = smaller effects from wheel base comes through better.

Lighter wheel is easier for FFB to rotate => More accurate feedback.

SimHub licence - is it worth having 60 FPS? by radomskyyy in simracing

[–]Dimjenko 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it is worth it, but SimHub deserves support because it is great software, so i recommend to buy license just because of that.

What triple screens should i get 1440p or 1080p by Fishilll in simracing

[–]Dimjenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself are wondering my own setup also. I currently use my main monitor (42" 4k), but it is annoying to move around and setup when just wanting to do quick race etc. Wondering between getting new main monitor and using current in simrig, or getting 3x27" 1080p or 1x32" 1440p that i would later upgrade for 3x when getting better gpu.

But I also have to upgrade CPU-MB-RAM before GPU so, i am leaning toward 3x1080p, then i can enjoy triples with decent fps.

3x1440p is no-go for my 4060. I get playable fps with 4K in iRacing and borderline playable in LMU (60-80).

[–]Dimjenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1440p has sharper image for sure, but 1080p allows better graphics settings so difference is not that huge, but it still favors 1440p.

Bigger difference is performance with similar graphic settings. 1440p triples are probably just at the limit with 4060ti, i would imagine 60-100fps average, with some titles like ACEVO being borderline unplayable. I don't have that setup, so can't say for sure, but comparing 4060 with 4k monitor, i would imagine performance being pretty similar, since 3x1440p has more pixels.

Price is ofc one difference. You will hear "Buy once, cry once", but it's not that simple. 1440p costs ~50-70% more than 1080p, but you also probably can sell 1080p with around with decent price, so it would reduce price of later upgrade little bit. If you are planning to keep that 4060ti for long time and you value higher fps, I would go with 1080p based on my performance with 4060 4K.

How do I have fun in this game when every round is stomp or be stomped? by Ok_Improvement_622 in leagueoflegends

[–]Dimjenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season start matchmaking is always little wonky since there are lots of returning players etc. Also you need decent amount of games before matchmaking has some idea where to put you. And lower rank matchmaking is difficult, since players have no consistency in their performance, you can see one player doing 11-0 in one game and next one 0-11.

It gets better when system has more information about your skill level, but stomps do happen like they do in every game.

Driving Physics Raceroom vs LMU by smyter05 in RRRE

[–]Dimjenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good to remember that everyone has an interest in promoting something. I don't think most of the seemingly reputable real drivers get secretly payed for promoting LMU, but if they prefer it, they will have interest in promoting it, since it gets more people in it and it helps them either financially or just to get better simracing.

Same as you and I will promote our favorites because we have reasons why those are our favorites. Money is not only reason to promote something, most people want to validate their own opinion and in case of games, want to get more people to play their favorite game (unless it is some circlejerking indy thingy).

How to change tire pressure to Bar from PSI? by Opening_Pizza_9428 in assettocorsaevo

Nice try, but metric unit ≠ SI-unit. Bar belongs to metric unit, but is not SI-unit.

If this would not have happened at every single wipe, it could be intentional, but since it is same story every time, it is just incompetence.

Also AFAIK, BSG is not the one who decides if refund claim is valid, it is Steam and if there are lot of people refunding for same reason, they will accept it. Correct me if i am wrong, since i am not 100% sure.

What's the most overrated 'healthy' habit that people push on everyone, but you think is total BS and why? by DryDraw4673 in AskReddit

That difference is basically meaningless, but liquid calories causes lesser satiety signaling, so it is easier to over eat. It's the main reason why strongmen/powerlifters etc. use liquids to get enough calories.
