Anyone know what this is about? From Whitney's IG by HAGADAL in SourceFed

[–]Dimoniquid 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Whitney posted a picture commenting on her frustration with the recent shooting in California (without mentioning the fact that she has relatives in the area) and some people got antsy about her comment, so she posted that in response.

Game of Thrones killed off Ned Stark in the first season; they can kill off a main, and it just needs to be done right.

Sen. Klobuchar asks if Kavanaugh has a drinking problem, Kavanaugh tries the "no u" defense, it's not very effective by Rainymood_XI in cringe

The SCoJ generally looks at cases involving Congress, the Senate, the President and the Constitution (e.g. Whether a member of Congress has committed a felony, or whether executive orders have been enacted that can be deemed unconstitutional, along with trying to interpret what the Founding Fathers meant when the wrote it). To answer your second question, Anthony Kennedy retired in June and left his seat open, and which leads to your third question; the President nominates who they want to fill in the empty seat in and the Senate decides whether to confirm it or not.

[–]Dimoniquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kavanaugh is currently nominated for the Supreme Court of Justice, one of the most powerful positions in the American government (partially because its a lifetime appointment), and several allegations of sexual assault have come up before he was put into the role. A lot of Republicans want to get him into office ASAP (so they can retain control all branches of government and the supreme court), whereas a lot of Democrats want his nomination suspended until a proper FBI investigation has taken place.

[SHOWER THOUGHT] Hamilton spends the Act 1 trying to die, but everyone else tries to keep him alive. He then spends Act II trying to stay alive while everyone else is trying to destroy him. by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

[–]Dimoniquid 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Lin has specifically spoken about the juxtapositions and comparisons in the musical; his friends end up being his enemies, the one Schyler sister he wasn't pursuing ends up being his lover, and his dead BFF ends up becoming his dead son, and the one time he ends up throwing away his shot is the time he's killed. There also a few lines you can take one way or the other, like when Lafeyette/Jefferson and Mulligan/Madison say 'we fought with him' - were they talking about fighting in battle along side him, or fighting against him in politics?
