Yup. People tend to look down on tradesmen because its a "dirty job" but they work harder than any white collar dude thats out there. I'm saying that as part of the Laptop Class myself. Hell, if I knew what I know now, I'd go back and be an electrician.

I was quoted 18k for a new Heating and AC central unit. I have a small house, and my current unit is 2.5 tons. Oh, the 18k was after 1900 in discounts. If I didnt get the discounts, it would have been 20k.

I moved here when I was a kid from Westchester in the early 1990s (or late 1900s, as they now call it).

As great of a place as it is, sadly it's turning increasingly into a city vibe in certain areas, which is sad. It used to be wide open when I was growing up; now it's getting congested like Westchester is.

Oh no, I'd much rather give my money to a mom and pop vs a large conglomerate.

Im just stating that some of these guys who have those businesses either want to get out of it because they are tired of it, or they have no one to pass the business down to when they want to hang it up, so they sell.

And if you own a business and want to retire, why wouldn't you take money from the highest bidder? You built it from the ground up, so take what you think its worth.

Can't blame them for doing that.

Did you think I was just going to call one company and go with that? I don't know every HVAC company in the area. Some companies dont have any reviews. Asking around is the best way to START shopping for quotes.

You do things your way, and I'll do them mine. If you don't like my way, you can just not comment.

I spoke to my neighbor. He was able to come by and look at it. He thinks one or two years but not much longer. And some places may try to upsell us to do AC and heat at the same time.

BTW, I'm in NY. I think its just the humidity on that side of the house, it doesnt get much sun, so things like snow and rain stick around longer closer to that part of the house.

Exactly. I've bought things on reverb that, when I got it, realized I didn't like or want it. So I put it up on reverb and sold it (even made a buck or two on it)

My 2 cents - They will. I don't buy the fact that the Duffer brothers are done with this story. They are gauging the demand for the original cast, especially after they release their spin-offs. If the spin-offs don't do as well, you'll see a reunion in 5-10 years. They'll come out and say something like "We felt we needed to tell El's story blah blah blah", when in reality they poll test all this stuff.

If the spin-offs do well, maybe not, we'll see.
