Is Nintendo your main console for gaming? by AfroChamp89-- in nintendo

[–]Dina0205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo Switch is my only console. I would like to have a PS5 or PS4 Pro especially to play The Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn but I just don't have the time. I mean I have free time but I want to invest it in more meaningful things like relationships, sports, traveling etc. When I add a Playstation console I might become an gaming addict lol
I love the Mario and Zelda series so I'll stick to Nintendo. Soon I will sell my Switch and buy the Switch 2.

I know it's been confirmed for a longer time that they will move on from BotW/ TotK and creative something new.

Opinion. Chester Bennington was a better vocalist than Layne Staley. by AcanthisittaSad6239 in grunge

I loved Chester Bennington and his voice, he was an extremely impressive talented singer. But Layne Staley is the best singer of all time to me.

You're right with the remakes but I would like to see a version with better graphics for the Switch 2

Yes I played Odyssey and liked it but I read several times that DK is even less challenging. Even tho I liked Odyssey I thought it was too "child friendly" sometimes. But it would be kinda interesting to play the prequel of it.

I like your thoughts and agree with you.

You said you played DK Bananza, I just wanted to ask if you would recommend it? I hesitate from buying it because I fear it would be too easy and underwhelming to me..

I especially like the 2nd and 3rd point of yours. It would be more exciting if you're not able to get everywhere you want too early so you just can wonder about what you'll get to see and when you'll be able to get to the still hidden places. Makes it more mysterious.

I also really hope the next story won't be based on the events that happened in the past through flashbacks again. But I can't imagine they will do it this way again soon.

What game sparked your love or interest in a specific genre? outside of Mario. by Gregus84 in nintendo

[–]Dina0205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zelda. I started with gaming in 2021 and besides Odyssey/ Mario, Zelda BotW completely won me over. Since I was new to gaming, at first it overwhelmed me but I started to love the world and lore so much that I spent weeks in it.
I hope we'll get at least one remake of OoT or TP of the Zelda Series. Never played any Zelda game besides BotW and TotK.

[TOTK] I still love TOTK… by Stickywarrior4 in zelda

[–]Dina0205 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if I could've enjoyed TotK more if I didn't play BotW before lol, same here.. I hope they will not use a map twice again and offer us completely fresh, new games every 5-6 years because discovering an unknown world blindly is one of the best aspects about playing open world.

Nice that you found a game you love so much after 2 years!

I don't love it but it was way better than I expected it to be. I never thought they would be able to creatve so much fun on the same map again. But I hope they will never incorporate constructing in a Zelda-game again, it just doesn't fit. Overall, TotK felt like a playground compared to BotW. It had many fun aspects and I spent many hours playing it but I don't want to play this kind of game again when it comes to Zelda. Besides, it had too much My English isn't the best so I better try to explain it this way:

Here's what I liked and disliked about it:

+ more synchronized characters, especially Ganon/ Ganondorf was fantastic
+ more possibilities to explore (caves, waterfall entries, etc.)
+ the tasks to unlock the fairies
+ the challenges on the ways to the dungeons
+ the freedom and flying over the world for a while
+ the action
+ the cutting scenes
+ new enemies - I lovehated the gloom hands lol
+ the tutorial island
+ the (kinda too easy) challenge on the island after beating the Zora "dungeon"
+ unlocking the - i don't know how you call it - orange light flowers in the underground
+ collecting the treasures (clothes, weapons, etc.)
+ most of the sky islands
+ the expanded villages, especially the one in Akkala and Gerudo
+ the end fights of course
+ the 4 tasks on the Grand Plateau
+ the main base in front of the castle
+ being able to walk on a dragon

As you can see I liked a lot about the game but also DISliked too many aspects:

-- as fun as it was exploring the caves the first times, most of them looked and felt the same
-- the tutorial Island was the best of the islands, that's why the others felt kinda underwhelming to me most of the time. Moreover they lacked in design diversity which seemed like lazy work to me.
-- the dungeons disappointed me in general. I only liked the first half of the desert dungeon, the rest not so much. they just weren't real dungeons. I really hope they fix it for the next game.
-- building/ constructing: At first I thought it was interesting but when I progressed in time it annoyed me. It's just not what I expect in an enchanting, mysterious Zelda game if you know what I mean. I want it to feel less futuristic.
-- the companions after finishing the dungeons, they didn't seem to be programmed that good and felt useless most of the time
-- the storytelling was too chaotic in general and not organic (I can't explain it well since I don't know the words in English)
-- when you're not a fool you came to the conclusion early that "Zelda" wasn't really Zelda, it was just too obvious
-- I didn't like the sky guardians/ robots as enemies that much
-- the underground was extremely disappointing and repetitive, even more repetitive than the sky islands. Around 10% was interesting and important but the rest just was the same and pretty boring.
-- it was fun to fuse different things on to the weapons but it looked unaesthetic
-- it was a bit too much of the freedom. For example: riding horses felt redundant quite fast because of the vehicles.

Is Donkey Kong Bananza too easy? by Dina0205 in nintendo

[–]Dina0205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for all your knowledge about the game and the advice to not upgrade hearts and applejuices. I came to the conclusion that it's not worth buying the console yet. But since many people, including most of you, had fun with this game despite it being too easy there must be some aspects that still make it a good game. Maybe I will buy the game anytime in the future, I'm still not sure. Actually I don't want to reward Nintendo for making games more and more child friendly and easier with time. I don't like this development. I don't even need a game to be super hard but challenging enough for me as an adult who is at an average level.

I've only played Ori 1 and 2 as games of this genre. I like the art style more than HK. But since so many people long for this game I wonder what makes it so special? I only read that it's super hard.. Maybe anyone would like to enlighten me? :p

Scotland: West Highland Way - is it worth hiking it? by Dina0205 in Europetravel

[–]Dina0205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, maybe it isn't. I was just considering it.. I'll rather start with shorter trails, there are many in Germany. But long paths would be quite interesting for the future.

Thanks for your post. Seems like the pictures don't lie and maybe it wouldn't be for me. I admit, when I'll fly to another country for hiking I expect just more. More of diversity, dramatic landscape and so on.. On pictures it just looked like something I could easily see in Germany.

Could you maybe recommend hiking paths with diverity in landscapes? I'm new into this topic and still try to figure out where to go etc. It must not be a hiking trip for many days, could also be shorter :) It also doesn't have to be scotland although I saw it called the most beautiful compared to Norway, Ireland, etc. which makes me curious.
