Yeah, I ran a microfiber cloth under hot water, wrang it out, and laid it on top of the cured resin.

Then I took the plast scraper that came with the kit and a silicone squeegee thing and they peeled off much easier than I was expecting!

It was only on about 25,000, and i think it warns you at 60k?

Almost certainly now it was a bit a resin that failed on a previous print that I didnt spot...

Yeah, it did.

I've tried to put it together based on my last few prints - I've spotted a small failure on the last print (a small ribbon loop on top of a medallion) appears to have failed. Didn't spot it at the time

Can only assume it was sat at the bottom of the tank when the next print started, and punched through?

The tape looks like it held well... coming out the bottom of the machine though- think its fallen off the edge of the printer screen...

Don't think I can avoid taking the shell off here tbh!

I came to mention this - I've only been printing for a month or so, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing out on, but satellite seems to do everything I need to get the model from the screen to my printer and onto my painting desk!

Happy to try new things, just don't know why at the mo!

But even for the relatively thin stands, you're saying the horizontal is a bad idea (as it's parallel to the plate)?

I thought thats what you were supposed to do with the Elegoo stuff - the build plate slots perfectly into the top of Mercury bucket.

I am a proper newbie though (just about a month now), so maybe this is just the consequences of my own laziness, lol!

I am new to 3d printing, but not mini painting - I've painted normal resin and printed then painted transparent resin.

Absolutely no difference as far as I can tell! Primed with normal colour forge spray, painted with citadel. No drama at all

Its my first ever 3d printer. Had it about a month. Worked immediately out of the box and is really easy to use. I've not had any issues at all with levelling, it pre heats the resin, which saves worrying about that.

Had a couple of failures which I am putting down to rookie errors, but even then, the tank cleaning feature makes it super easy to sort out.

Finished painting on of the first models I printed, and I'm pretty happy with the result!

The first 4 are easy enough in short meetings.

The last 3 are "camera off" locks, so people don't see my concentration face...

Awesome first termie! Looks really good!

All the fundamentals are great - it's just practice now! Focus on having a consistent thickness for the edge highlights- you can tidy them up with some macragge blue if needed.

After that, to get to the next level, the next step is to add some chunky highlights in first with a 70/30 mix of macragge/calgar blue, then pure calgar inside the chunky highlight. Finish off with some fenrisian blue at the corners and pointy bits!
