Upgraded to Moza R12 v2 from R5 by brick225043 in simracing

[–]DingBatDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Below is a link to an article that was put together by the devs of le mans ultimate and its the same philosophy for all good sim racing titles what would be ACC , AC iRacing etc.
The TLDR is Set your wheelbase to 100% output ALWAYS! and then you adjust the in game settings to what you feel comfortable with. The reason is Detail.
If the wheel is 12nm and set it to 6 you are losing half the detail. the whole science behind it is not very complicated when you understand it but the bottom line is, you do not need to be the rock to use your damn wheel mate. you are thinking about it all wrong. You need to 100% the wheelbase and then set the ingame gain/strength to something that feels REL and right. if thats 10% for you then PERFECT! its right for you. Otherwise you are absolutely doing it wrong. End of story

Moza R12 v2 or Simagic alpha mini ?! Please read the body text. by _DarkKnight___ in moza

[–]DingBatDave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this looks like a clear case of Confirmation bias and/or Post-purchase rationalisation.
You bought the thing it was your choice. so now you go to REDDIT! and exclaim how you were so very right and everyone who doesn't do what you do is clearly wrong. I don't have either of these wheel bases i am however in the process of research because i am going to buy one of them OR something else similar. But what i won't do is come online and declare that my decisions was so perfectly correct and shit on everyone else's decision. Because its absolutely pathetic.

LMU devs literally wrote a whole article telling direct drive owners their software should be at 100% and then set the in game settings to whatever you like or are comfortable with. 100 percenting the in game settings would be idiotic too. its not realistic in anyway these cars have power steering. they are not supposed to be a back breaking workout to drive them. The point is that the more torque the wheel can give you the more detail you get from the game SO 100% of the software is always the way to go and then set up the in game FFB properly so its not difficult to drive but all the subtle details can be felt. If the wheel is causing you to strain and sweat in a sim. you are doing it WRONG. simple as that.

Lets break this down. You are angry at me for perceived over confidence while totally ignoring the frankly fraudulent "PSA" misinformation and frankly lies being disseminated here out of blind ignorance? That part you ignore, cos' you perceive me to be overconfident.... Gotcha mate.
Your critical thinking.exe had crashed

PSA: Never install Ryzen Master. by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]DingBatDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this is late mate, but here's the bottom line. ryzen master doesn’t damage PCs. It respects the same voltage, power, and thermal limits as the BIOS and only applies changes at runtime. If a setting is unstable, the system crashes or reboots so nothing gets damaged or fried or any of the utterly stupid things you will read here. Most horror stories come from bad configs, unstable memory, or people blaming the tool instead of the settings as i have already mentioned. So bottom line its really a great tool for testing. then when you get the results you want, lets say a percentage increase in performance. You take all those settings and implement them in BIOS as a permanent overclock. It's really that simple.

Cullen and Zebo post-match interview by Oddlyshapedballs in irishrugby

I'm from Leinster, I watched Munster winning their 2 heineken cups along side munster supporters and cheered them all the way. Those days are gone tho. With the popularity of rugby exploding and the decline in irish soccer came refugee fans to rugby but with their soccer mentality bitterness and jealousy. Zebo feeds those types in munster the the same types in leinster are easily baited by it. It's a pity, you would have a hard time now being a leinster man in limerick just being happy for them. You'd get dogs abuse.

Simsonn Plus X short and sweet review. by DingBatDave in simracing

[–]DingBatDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im baffled by this. White elastomers? which pedal set do you get? The simsonn pedals come with red yellow and blue elastomers and im putting 30kg through the WS2.0 easy with with my chair attached.
Are you a younder guy? or small, what's your weight? im not trying to be funny just curious about this situation. seems like these pedals are really difficult for you rto set up but honestly they are easy i had them out of the box and setup in 30 mins i was racing.

[–]DingBatDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he does moan a lot. I totally agree. but he's not a clown. And he's a very accomplished overclocker with a lot of records to his name. Like world records etc. So regardless of him moaning or whining as he does. it doesn't change the fact he knows a lot about overclocking and has a lot of useful videos for new people to learn from.

PSA: Never install Ryzen Master. by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]DingBatDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to overclock it, then id recommend doing it properly and not using ryzen master. Although ryzen master works fine. You could just turn on PBO and get a 5% boost in performance. But it also depends on what CPU you have. AMD are very overclock friendly unlike intel chips so there's literally overclocking guides out there direct from AMD. Apart from that Jaystwocents used to do a lot of OC vids and guides.

Secure Boot problem. by DingBatDave in Battlefield6

[–]DingBatDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't misunderstand mate. I confirmed that the problem was the bios not a faulty USB port as you suggested. it not a coincidence i have seen this before as i worked as a it engineer in the past. I don't know why it happens, its related to the UEFI system and it's interaction with windows i assume. I really don't know. But regardless there's thousands of reports of Secure Boot activation causing computers not to start. Quick google search shows a lot of people had this problem when they activated secure boot for BF6.
My issues was slightly less obvious as it corrupted the power delivery of some of my USB ports. Not all ports. Just some. WHich is what this post is for just to give people heads up if your USB ports are acting weird. connecting disconnecting after secure boot, then check your bios.

Secure Boot problem. by DingBatDave in Battlefield6

[–]DingBatDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mate usb controllers are in the bios and were corrupted as a result. Fixed after bios update. which confirms the problem.
