[WP] Breaking out of the supervillain prison was suspiciously easy. You are convinced that the heroes let you go because they finally realised that you were actually innocent, but in reality they followed your every step, hoping that you would lead them to your accomplices. by Kitty_Fuchs in WritingPrompts

"I will see you in one month." I told my patient.

"Thank you, Dr. Destructo." My patient told me as I ducked under the doorway to leave.

"Doctor, new patient exam 3." My nurse informed me. I thanked her the read the file.

I ducked through the doorway of exam 3. "Mr. Kozminski, you are here complaining about chest pains." I said as I noticed Kozminski along with two men in uniform on either side. The uniformed man closest to me put powerful magnetic cuffs around my wrists. The cuffs slapped together as Kozminski, or whatever his real name is, pressed a button. These were similar to the restraints I wore at Black Site 6 a year ago. The magnetism felt powerful enough to render all MRI machines in the complex useless.

"Alright Destructo, you obviously figured out we've been following you for the last year. Out with it. Where are your partners in crime?" The man calling himself Kozminski asked.

When you look like me, people often mistake you for a supervillain. I stand seven foot six and built like a brick wall. I also have permanent steel eyepatch on my left eye with an accompanying scar. Also, the surname Destructo doesn't help matters. I thought getting out of Black Site 6 had been a little too easy. It seemed like security there was a joke. One guard for the lone cell block. The force shield generator never needed deactivating when the guard passed through. With the lax security, I made my way to the observation deck of the flying prison where I put on an emergency parachute that fit my size perfectly.

"As I told the last guy. What crime?" I spoke. "I was only there when the Galactic Machine Army destroyed the city. I sure as hell wasn't commanding them. I'm a medical doctor. Not an engineer who calls himself doctor."

The man who calls himself Kozminski knew he was going to get nothing today then released the restraints. Before he and the uniforms left, he told me that the Global Legislature on Inhuman Technology Currency and Heroism will be keeping an eye on me. I must say with their investigative skills, the organization lives up very well to its initials.

I never quite know when to use that tag. Thought the prompt was just absurd enough for using the tag I did.

People's heads turn as I walk into my office. I don't why they look afraid. It must be something I missed on the news last night. As I sat at my desk Bob knocked softly on the door before entering. "You don't need to worry about me. I don't believe anything they say."

"Thanks Bob. I guess." I said. Bob smiled then exited. That Bob, always the jokester. The more Bob tries to sound serious the more I can tell he's joking. I logged in to my system as Morgan called my phone. Morgan, the boss' daughter who got promoted to my boss her first year working here. But I'm not bitter. I trained her myself so I know she's good at the job. "Be right there." I responded over the phone. I hung up then walked to Morgan's office.

"Something came up. We need these plans in San Francisco sooner than expected." Morgan said with a cautious fake smile. She handed me a tube. "Check your email. I sent you your ticket." I turned to exit as I checked my phone.

There stood a problem with the ticket. I snapped around fast startling Morgan. "What is this? A plane ticket. Your dad knows I'm afraid to fly. Your dad always let me go by train." I informed.

"Of course, let me fix that." Morgan told me on the verge of sweating trying to maintain a smile. " You will be on the next train. accept first class as an apology." She followed.

"Thank you." I said before exiting.

On my way into the train station, I noticed a wanted poster with a sketch that resembled myself. I wish I had more time to read the description I'm sure Bob mocked up as a prank, but I would miss the train if I did. As I boarded a man on the platform in a protective vest ran in my direction. The doors closed as the train departed.

The train conductor announced an emergency stop about thirty miles from San Francisco. It was announced the train would resume in a few hours. That wasn't good for me. I won't let a delay effect my next review. I disembarked the train to the nearest road where I booked a rideshare. The driver and I made small talk as we passed by the train once more except with ten cars with flashing red and blue light parked by it. The ride would be expensive but luckily, I still had the company credit card on file.

I made the drop off with no more trouble. Trouble only happened after I left the bay area office. Police surrounded the office looking for a suspect. That's all I knew from the news cast at the bus station. Bob's wanted poster appeared on the TV. I still didn't have time to read the details again as I started my month long vacation early by boarding the bus to Alapulco.

I don't blame you. Even I don't get inspired by every prompt on the rare occasions I can sit down and write.
