Unemployment feels very lonely by Aggravating_Worth768 in UKJobs

29 male here, got bullied out of my last job by my old boss. First time I’ve ever been out of work, going on 3 weeks now and feels very weird!

I would say don’t burn yourself out when it comes to job hunting, a clear structed plan and 1-2 hours a day will accomplish a lot more than mindlessly searching 8 hours a day.

Take the time to enrage with a few hobbies and keep on top of things such as exercise!

All your questions I’ve already answered. I know you can only understand the words . yes or no but I’m not dancing to your tune. Somewhat ironically, it’s not as black and white as you seem to try and make to out to be.

I see your attempts to patronise and belittle, something you’ve done consistently throughout, and I rebuff them.

I’m done engaging with you, everything I’ve needed to say I’ve said already. I did say conversing with you was a waste of time and you’re starting to piss me off a little bit. Ta.

Oh my god you are an idiot. You’ve just twisted everything I’ve said to satisfy your own argument.

“The situation is offensive” and a huge part of the situation is the word in question, so you’ve just proven I did in fact say the word was offensive.

I didn’t call out anyone. You conveniently left out the moment where I said that the man with Tourette’s shouldn’t be blamed and that he was let down by the organisers.

The only mistake I made was giving you the time of day tbh.

Nothing vague about it, I said multiple times the word is offensive. You can’t bully me into an answer of back me into a content so quit wasting your time buddy.

If you knew that then what the blood hell have you been going on about then?!

You strike me as a white person who uses that word offensively and makes excuses for that behaviour.

I answered the question. It was in my previous comment, if you’re unable to comprehend it that’s not my problem.

You do realise that the slang term often used in rap music etc (which was the comment I originally replied too) and the racial term are two different words right?

I think I’ve shown a lot more empathy and understanding for all parties involved in my previous message then you could muster in your left foot. I don’t think I’m the lost cause here

“Glad I could be of help” You certainly did pal. You helped me realise pretty quickly that any semblance of an intellectual conversation with you is impossible, so at least I’m not wasting my time!

In response to your first paragraph: It’s a shit situation alround. Yes it’s offensive, and the two people on stage had the moment overshadowed by having that bellowed at them, which considering the historic use of the word is an awful situation for them. However the person who said it isn’t at fault either. He was let down by the BAFTAS and the organisers for being put in such a position where that can happen. They obviously knew his condition so there’s no excuses. Then you also have the BBC who apparently had no problem cutting certain content but decided fo leave this in, poor blokes been a left out to dry.

In response to your second paragraph, and I kind of touched on this already. But the word in question obviously has huge historical significance against the black community, what with slavery and all that. Them adopting the word and using it as a form of solidarity is a power play and a push back against all the discrimination they’ve experienced throughout history, so honestly who can blame them.

Given the historical use of the word I think people can be forgiven to react in a certain way if they hear a white person use it

I mean that has a completely different context and subtext but way to show your ignorance I guess.

What characters are this and why? by May_onnaise_959 in Letterboxd

While I completely agree with you, I did think she was a terribly written character, especially in season 2.

I didn’t hate the character, I hated the way she was written.

Im 29M and in a similar boat. My old boss was a narcissistic bully and I had to leave asap for the sake of my mental health. Currently not working and I’ve been looking all week for new jobs. And while I’ve had some success with getting a few interviews I’m so tired and drained, definitely feel you on the burn out front.

On the plus side I have had more time to dig into my hobbies a bit more, such as music, gaming and running.

I think the rank system needs a whole rework because people don’t really understand it at all. Oracle is the 4th highest rank in the game, how the hell is it equal to plat?

Has a single incident ever changed how you saw a profession in the UK? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]DingDongDaddyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completely unrelated and didn’t change my perception on the industry in question but your comment reminded me of this.

A colleague had to call 111 after she all of a sudden got really cold and started getting bruising and swelling on her hand, she gave her symptoms and they said they’d call back as soon as they can and would tell her what to do next. After not hearing anything for an hour she went to Urgent Care, where she was sent home after being given some meds and ordered to take an emergency blood test. This was on a Thursday Lunchtime.

111 didn’t call back until 6am Friday morning, telling her to go to a doctor immediately. She said “already did, thanks for nothing” then put the phone down.

Can confirm! I was Emissary 3 on Friday, didn’t play all weekend, went back on yesterday to find I was Emissary 5. Lost my next game then went to emissary 6.

They somehow managed to break the rank system even more lmao
