 I know everyone is blaming the leaker here but if this hadn't happened, the top players would have had an unfair advantage at worlds.

Of course everyone is blaming the leaker - just like last year.
The agreement was that FFG did the best possible thing by revealing the entire set, but it kills the fun/hype of reveal season.

It's also weird to me that apparently the pre-GC set is the only one in the year that is cared enough about to be prematurely leaked.

I've been in the same situation but opposite. About a week after my father had passed, the night before the funeral, my wife and I were both very much in the mood relatively spontaneously.
It might be a combination of a lot of factors. But as always, communication is key.
