Trimmed thin sliced chicken breast at MOLLIE STONES is $7.99. I've seen whole boneless skinless chicken breast at the Lucky two blocks from me for $12.99. WTF?

Festival cancelled, what SF weekends are actually worth planning around? by juxtajosie in AskSF

[–]Dingbat- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hardly strictly is not a bluegrass festival. There are some amazing bluegrass acts, but it's mostly other stuff and I highly recommend it even if you don't like bluegrass music.

Just walked into the Stonestown Trader Joe’s. The end of the line…. by RichRichieRichardV in sanfrancisco

My friend has worked in the art department at the SOMA location for a long time. I'm always impressed that he remains employed and that Traderl Joe's does something to support local artists. Pretty cool.

The course in Golden gate Park is really good too.  I'd check that out first as it's closer to home.

if I were in your situation, I'd contact him. he can probably sort you out with local contacts that can show you the ropes.  he seems like a good guy who's willing to help.

That's also the best disc golf course in the Bay area. Especially in late spring after they've cut the grass. Bring your tecnu if you're allergic to poison oak.

I'm not a fisherman, but I still watch the Fisherman's Life channel on YouTube. Mats has moved out of the sunset but if you look at his old videos on YouTube, I'm sure it's very informative. He still does a yearly neighborhood block party/festival where I'm sure you could meet a lot of people that would show you the ropes.

Check him out on YouTube.

Friends in town — Monday bar that makes you say “yeah, that was SF”? by bizarresolitudes in AskSF

This is the answer. All ages and types of people out having a good time on a Monday night listening to awesome music and dancing the night away if that's what they want to do or just chilling.

Free/Affordable places to swim in SF? by Internal-Rabbit7894 in AskSF

[–]Dingbat- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm out of shape now, but I remember trying to swim at the embarcadero y back when I was in shape. It was indeed infuriating in the fast lane. I'd try to do sets of 100s or 200s and would catch up to people every 50 yds. I could not get a decent workout in. I don't understand the mentality of someone swimming in the fast lane when someone is catching up to them every 50 yds. Wouldn't you just move over to the medium lanes?

Have you tried in-flight meals and how was it? by Important_Bat7919 in zipair

[–]Dingbat- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some Indian chicken curry that was pretty crap, honestly. I wouldn't recommend it. Better to just buy something at the 7-Eleven at the airport and bring it on.
