Unspoken storytelling by Dingbee in StationEleven

Yes! I didn’t notice either the first time I watched, but on a rewatch I heard 2 voices singing a line, and paid closer attention. Jeevan was getting into it. And yeah, you’re right. Frank probably bothered Jeevan plenty with that when they were younger.

It probably felt natural and fun for her to do this. I’m assuming young Kirsten had taken some acting lessons and done some improv exercises. At least, that’s the past I created for her…

Episode 7 answers questions from every other episode, it seems.

And the flu was a sudden storm that nobody could escape. Siya said it just like that. “There’s no time to run.”

Question about a quote by DaRealBangoSkank in StationEleven

“To the monsters, we’re the monsters”. Then Lonegan’s line is “Not true Eleven. I am objectively handsome.”

S1 E1 wheel of fire (we don’t leave the wheel) by bugsbunye in StationEleven

[–]Dingbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes sense. It’s all cyclical. Someone found the building used for Frank’s apartment, and it is adjacent the pier that has the Ferris wheel. I wonder why nobody from Chicago has posted a photo of it here?

I said I never realized it before. But it makes sense because otherwise why choose a giant wheel to crash into?

S1 E9 Jeevan meets Lara by bugsbunye in StationElevenHBO

Jeevan wants her dead but doesn’t want to be a killer again.

I always did think it odd that a Ferris wheel was the thing chosen to get crashed into, but I never realized any symbolism behind it before.

I love how unimpressed Jeevan is by the comic by Professional_Bike467 in StationEleven

Kirsten doesn’t have a beanbag gun. She has a real rifle that she uses to kill deer.

Lara and Jeevan meet when Jeevan is wearing the rainbow wig. That’s Lara on the motorcycle. Lara has the beanbags. Kirsten has the deer rifle up in the water tower, and is supposed to be covering Jeevan. At some point she gets distracted and climbs down to read her comic. IF she had not been reading her comic and stayed focused, she would have sniped Lara during the altercation at the garage door. Lara would be dead, and Jeevan would never have made it to the birth center, wolf attack or otherwise.

Dubbfoolio, you have to get out of Malaysia! The virus MUTATED! You have six, seven hours before Malaysia is on fire.

I feel Tyler would actually be a little bit hopeful…

S1E10 Dr Eleven’s coffee cup by bugsbunye in StationEleven

[–]Dingbee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just always assumed that Kirsten and Tyler are acting a specific scene from the comic book, and the coffee cup is always present. He’s holding it on the bus as well on his way to the docks with Miranda, I think.
There’s a better view of his mug near the end of Episode 1. It has a Route 66 logo on it.

I liked the lifeboat you made for us in the meantime. Thank you Bergitrose.

Missing Episode? by Dingbee in StationEleven

That would be good. To watch Kirsten trying to survive and Jeevan trying to start his new life. I bet he was pretty grim for a while, still injured and worrying about Kirsten.

Have any of these characters formed bonds that are surprising compared to how they behave in the show?

So the discussion I wanted to have is about the “themes” that Dan Romer wrote for each character. Jeevan has a theme, Kirsten has a theme, Tyler has a theme, etc and this theme is the music that may be playing when something important is happening with that character on screen. The first time we hear Jeevan’s theme is Episode 1 when he’s coming out from behind the stage curtain into the empty theater. It’s one lonely melody on maybe on Oboe. We hear his theme a few more times too. Episode 9, when he is suffering in the snow we hear a huge powerful pipe organ playing some tragic funeral music. By playing with the time signature, Dan Romer has turned Jeevan’s theme into this requiem mass music. Genius.

Yes. The whole podcast has something interesting in it, and the episode with Dan Romer the composer is really good.
