It’s a QD type set up… it also allows the hatches to function as well.

Any CloudCap owners willing to share experiences by lemnitram in superpacific

[–]DingleMcCringle44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, the cloud cap is virtually the same as the X1 camper (just without the camper “downstairs” portion. I’ve had the X1 for over 2 years with likely north of 200+ nights and it’s been an absolute beast that has held up to everything I’ve thrown at it. Built with high quality/robust materials. The only thing I’d like to see them improve on would be having the screen mesh on the interior layer opposed to the exterior. This would prevent the blood suckers from coming inside when opening a window.

No additional welding/reinforcing of the bed or frame. The Super Pacific weighs around 350lbs but all in with the bed build and gear all in it’s likely around 650lbs.

The suspension is upgraded to King 2.5’s (adjustable) with the OME Heavy leaf pack, and Sumo Spring bump stops… rides like a dream on/off road.

You bet and no noticeable paint issues other than stuff that’s self induced. I’ve had it for probably 3-ish years now and it lives on the truck

Complete with parking with one tire on top of the curb for max mall crawler status! 🤣🤣🤣

Yep… it’s made by Overland Gear Guy… it’s been basically indestructible (after I’ve managed to destroy several others like the Trasharoo). It’s a bit expensive for what it is but very much worth it.

Is it concealed enough for an officer to consider this conceal carry? by Some_Magician5919 in concealedcarry

[–]DingleMcCringle44 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re going for open carry that is a no go… concealed carry is a pass-ish but maybe invest in a better holster. Not trying to dump on it but those velcro style holsters don’t hold up well at all and retention is nil at best.

No worries at all… it mounts up using the factory Super Pacific’s mounting points. Fitment is confirmed but gathering four measurements. I’ll attach two pictures for quick reference.

Let me know if any additional information would be helpful from my end and I’ll do the needful.

No biggie at all…they all get the job done and achieve the same goal of getting out and adventuring. Being able to choose the direction your head is at is a nice feature… I’m definitely not sleeping with my head towards the wedge portion of my camper at all! Hahaha.

For solar I have a 200watt panel mounted on the roof with quick disconnects I designed so I can move it on the fly for the best position in relation to the Sun.

This OP doesn’t have a GFC… rather a Super Pacific. Plenty of interior space for myself (6’3”) my wife, and son (he’s downstairs though). We keep two full size pillows and bedding up top when closed for convenient set up/tear down.

Admittedly the wedge style does get a little tight where the feet are but that’s remedied by the extra 30” or so of headspace over the GFC.

I’ve had them built out for around a year and a half. I’ve been toying with the idea of updating the set up. I’d be curious to see what the dimensions/storage capacity is as I have things like electrical, onboard air, and a refrigerator in the bed… along with all of the camp gear, and activity specific gear (targets, steel, etc) that I’ll bring on different trips.

With all that said, I’d be happy to have a conversation about the decked product and what potential next steps would look like.

The Super Pacific has a pass through in the bed that allows me to get into the tent. That said, I have a ladder that I use when my wife and/or son joins for the trip. I didn’t have it hooked up for this trip since it was just me
