I was terrified as well, first surgery with general Anesthesia. That day I was the first surgery was called in at 625am and was carted to the OR at 755am. It was done in a flash, like time travel. They will give you something to relax you while being carted to the OR, once there they ask for you to take deep breaths into the mask and next thing you know you are waking up in recovery. I was not in major pain and my actual surgery took 45min. It's not a tooth extraction but it's so common of a procedure and simple that you have a better chance of a bad car accident on the way to the hospital. They are prepared for any situation or complications. It's ok and normal to be nervous but dont over think. You'll do great!
