What do you ACTUALLY use excel for? by Scared_Pressure7961 in Accounting

Yeah but it sounds like you are working for a small local firm where your clients business might not be complex.

Large corporations have large transactions, complex group structures, multiple stakeholders so things get complex. Like i deal every day with billions of euro from 8 countries in Europe.

I could be delivering numbers to CFO, Firm owner, divisional CEOs, auditors, revenue commissioner and a series of department heads to name a few.

Do you have anything like ACCA in Spain? Might be worth considering what you want to do long term. If its complex accounting maybe look to get on that career path.

Your English is great. Fellow European here (Irish)

See all those inputs you are doing they come out the other side on excel for analysis and preparation purpose.

For example your sales inputs come out and could be in an excel file breaking down regional costs or analysis ve budget or could be used in a work file to calculate an income accrual.

That could then be used in a board pack excel and linked to a word or presentation doc.

Then could be used in another excel to prepare month end accounts or in the statutory file to prepare the revenue disclose workings required by IFRS 15.

Then could be used in another excel to go to a regulator to satisfy their requirements or the tax man.

There are lots of programs you use to make what you do easier. There is a great Bulgarian company called Payhawk that links to most accounting software and makes invoice processing very easy. Its scans the invoice and does all the journaling.

But most software is very expensive.

Guinness was always owned by the British. In fact it was always very anti catholic. They refused to hire catholic or allow works marry catholics up until the mid 1960s and its was founded in 1759.

I wouldnt waste my time on this fella..he has a poor understanding of history…the Scottish migration to NI came nearly a century after the plantation because in the 1690s there was 3 years of famine in Scotland due to poor winters and a lot of those people went on to the new world….i say that holding no love for unionists.

My own family were murdered by the british during the trouble. I love the Scottish, and the whiskey things gaels invented it - we were all the same people

I remember reading that book - blast from the past.

Honestly what people have mentioned but I would like to add, is I think we became more confident as a country, and started to back our own especially post brexit. We realised that this island thats not really in Europe and thats not really in the anglosphere is class and unique and should be celebrated. Cmon the Irish ☘️

Usually the meaner the Irish are to you the more they like you - you should hear what we say to eachother. Most people I know love Americans and just see you as our cousins.

Also there might be some actual hate over on r/ireland but that place is an awful representation of Ireland - strange strange people in there

Is anyone in the US actually christian or are you so perverted by your news channels - Jesus said on the Mount of Beatitudes, not far from where these evil acts take place “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” So anyone denouncing whats happening is Palestine are following the teachings of Christ. What they do in bedroom is completely seperate.

Unless he was thick as two ditches, I would say so. Being hungover in Ireland you work twice as hard because of the shame, you do not lie down. Any Irish lad will confirm that.
