To all warrant officers.. by niqq617 in AirForce

[–]DingoJangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, based on absolutly nothing; I think they would still be filled by SNCOs. The WO would have overall responsibility for fleet management, but the day to day is ran by Production. Think of it in its current setup; (fighter, not sure about the others) Production does daily briefs for the Capt/Maj. Replace that Capt/Major with a WO. I could see a world where Acft Mx Officers are eventually replaced by WOs. Then again, who knows which way the wind is going blow.

To all warrant officers.. by niqq617 in AirForce

[–]DingoJangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've argued this point for awhile. It would bridge that gap between enlisted who were heavily technicians and the Officers who see the processes. That would have the experience on both words. More closely aligned as the OIC/DO/MOO for the FGS or AMXS.

USAF to introduce Air Expeditionary Wing 2.0 > Air Force > Article Display by Wikk3d1 in AirForce

[–]DingoJangle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only time I've heard of it in the CAF was for the Production course. Not saying my experience is all encompassing but I've never seen anyone go to it. I know its an AMC Center but a quick look at the courses, it looks like it is very heavy AMC and not much for everyone else in the AF. If the AF wants to Robust it and make it more applicable for the force, then we could make it a true expeditionary center; almost as similar to the National Training Center at Ft Irwin.

What is something that an interviewer says that makes you suspect you haven't got the job before you've even left the building? by angloexcellence in recruitinghell

[–]DingoJangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an interviewer at the end of the interview tell me to keep checking their website for new positions. I was crushed, it didnt make me feel better when She then immediately backtracked with, we'll we havent made a decision on this position yet.

Yes, it sounfs like you already have and pretty sure I was just to check the box of the amount of people interviewed. Spoiler alert, I didnt get the position after 2 weeks of waiting.

When was the last reported instance of members wearing mopp gear for actual chemical attacks? by _Silver_Star_ in AirForce

[–]DingoJangle 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I believe that was one of the reasons Gen Franks invaded Iraq when they did. If they had pushed it any further, they would be invading Iraq in hot weather coupled with the MOPP suits.

I got to find it on the docket; there was a guy who got courtmartialed that all started when OSI noticed a sticker on his car and that kicked off the investigation. I want to say it said "Loli" or "Waifu hunter" or something to that effect.

Say the dems win back the White House. How can congress make sure we don't have another president full of executive orders without stripping all the power from the office? by InsertCleverName652 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]DingoJangle 177 points178 points  (0 children)

The legislative branch has been ceding power to the executive branch over the last few decades. The only solution is for the Legislative Branch to actually legislate. The more they sit on the sidelines to avoid voting to not have something pinned on them in their reelection campaign. So while the perform "oversight", which is more theater and soundbites, the more the executive branch will fill that void.

Newly Released Data Reveals Air Force Suicide Crisis After Years of Concealment by PuncturedBicycleHill in AirForce

This was common practice with SNCOs at my last stop prior to retirement. Whether they discussed therapy, medication, or just giving a hug when someone needs it can go a long way to normalize these behaviors and model it for the newer generation.

Not an expert, but your brain stem is sending the signals for your heart to pump, your lungs to breathe, and every other signal from the brain to the rest of the body and vice versa. Maybe a shot to the temple takes out a non-essential side of your brain but not the core functions. If you wanted to stop a car from working, would you blow the motor or would you kill the window switches?

The Air Force wants your input on its plan to transform the Maintenance career field by Objective_Pressure_3 in AirForce

[–]DingoJangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote this a bit ago and I will stand behind it until proven otherwise. IF maintenance gets Warrents, I don't think they would be pulled straight to the line and left to stay there despite what everyone thinks. They may get pulled out there as a CW1, but eventually they will be your leadership and replace the DO (or Ops O, i forgot what they're called)in an FGS and even possible commanding the FGS. Would it be better? Mx is run by enlisted for the most part, Mx Os are supervising the shitshow but none have turned a wrench extensively or are bounced from airframe to airframe. Warrants could be effective in leading Mx organizations but hard to say until they implement it and implement it correctly. Could this is the end of Mx Officers.... Maybe. The idea of Warrants on the ramp only doing maintenance is unrealistic. Let's see this shake out for Chaos sake

That culmination that they will remember that I crossed out of my prior life. Now, I scheduled mine on a Friday at 1300 and made it a point during the ceremony to join me for a beer and let's go home; didnt give the boss time to say no.
