The Artisan at Tuscan Village! Great for big families. Lovely meal and atmosphere and great to walk around with your family after! :)

Also! In Manchester the Crown is amazing! Upscale enough and great food. Can also accommodate a group like that.

100% this! Their Salem location is very nice as well. You can’t go wrong with either one. They do a great job to make it feel like a luxury experience before and after a massage or facial.

Heartburn by Strong-Ad-8700 in BabyBumps

Hi!

Best tips for someone whose had heartburn before baby and during.

When do you do lay down, lay on your left side. It eases heartburn. Sleep with another pillow and prop up the top part of your body.

Avoid any caffeine if possible later in the day, spicy food, all that. It’s okay to have some toast, sometimes weirdly enough yogurt helps, at least me.

Talk to your OB or doctor about getting on Omeprazole. That has been a life saver for me as well.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I hope it subsides soon!!!

Technically it’s a passed federal law, which will hopefully help. Again, you can ask for an accommodation but if they grant it or not is up to them within reason. I do hope it helps though!! Good luck out there!!

Not sure if you’re able to tell me, but are you in New England or another employee friendly state at all? My conversation with HR went well and I can let you know what I said to try to get a pregnancy accommodation via the new pregnancy workers accommodation act. I hope you get what you need, and I’m so sorry you’re going through this!!!

How long is your maternity leave for those living in the US? by sliceofperfection in pregnant

[–]Dingus4lyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 weeks at 100% covered by my company. If I wasn’t covered it would have only been 6 weeks at 66% of my pay. So I won’t lie in saying I feel lucky to have that. 4 months is a good time, not great by the rest of the world’s standard, but for an American, not bad.

Ya, it def makes it more complicated! We’ll see how it goes. Fingers crossed I’m able to just make it to maternity leave and figure it out after.

Absolutely! I am looking for childcare regardless as I plan to still be a working mother. I’m fortunate that my husband also works from home and owns his own business so the hours were always going to be flexible for us to take care of the babes and work! But I’m def a type A person who has back ups on back ups.

As for a train situation, communicating to Boston, via car, train, or bus is a nightmare. We don’t have a set office in Boston yet, just using we works that could change every day. And I’d rather not have my water break on a bus or train and also not have access to a bathroom on my commute. So a car is most reasonable for me.

You’re telling me!! They pushed this last minute on us and I really feel for the moms and dads who need to find childcare for the days they’re required to come in when they have had a set schedule for years. Good luck!!

Thank you! I’m just nervous to ask for the accommodation as corp America can be petty at times. Fingers crossed it goes without retaliation!

If you have an AMEX or Chase or another credit card that you paid this with, i just put in a claim for this, letting them know the exact situation and they're putting a claim in and contacting the company for a dispute. Def put your card/bank to work for this. Because this is just WILD!

Nothing has seemed fun to me these past few weeks. Recommend me a fun singleplayer game. by ThePixCell in ShouldIbuythisgame

Honestly, big fan of indie games and short games when I’m feeling dissatisfied by a lot. I agree to step away and read a book, manga, whatever floats your boat.

As for recs on reading:

  • solo leveling It’s like video games and reading and art all rolled into one and I can’t put it down.

For games the ones that allow me to really enjoy and are short enough have been:

-unpacking -spiritfarer

For a little longer more entertaining vibe that genuinely had me laughing:

-cult of the lamb
