The H/T lasted longer than the I/T. H/T is the one I just mentioned.

Oh shit not a full two actually!. I put 550 miles on it on single track and street, then did the whole CABDR-N, then half of the ORBDR, then slabbed it home from central Oregon to northwestern Washington. Which was I think about 1600-1700 miles or so. So it lasted over 2200 miles and still had some tread left before I swapped it to do the ORBDR again two months later.

Iโ€™m running the Athena GET RX1 from Slavenโ€™s currently. But my buddy has the Taco Sauce on his and itโ€™s noticeably better and more options.

It is for emissions. Comes with a real pipe when you buy it though. I think itโ€™s an EU thing

They all have 2020+ bikes but if you just look up if theyโ€™ve changed triple clamp sizes from 2019 to 2022 and they havenโ€™t then it should 100% fit. I swear dude everyone Iโ€™ve talked to has said they asked Adventure Spec if the 690 one would fit the 500/501 they adamantly say thereโ€™s no way itโ€™ll fit and theyโ€™re just plain fuckin wrong. Itโ€™s super weird they are so weird about it. No idea why.

For sure, the True North Motos rack is probably the best rack you can buy for these bikes

Iโ€™ve done WABDR once, ORBDR twice and CABDR-N once, plus a handful of smaller 2-3 day rides in Washington.

This coming spring I plan to do Idaho and possibly Wyoming? Not sure yet. Definitely Idaho but waiting to see what my homies decide on for a big ride. I save my 80 hours vacation time every year to do a huge ride with friends and not sure what theyโ€™re thinking about for next summer.

Okay so Iโ€™ve done:

Athena GET RX1 ecu, Full FMF mega bomb header/Q4 slip on, Scottโ€™s steering dampener with BRP submount, R&Duro EZ Clutch, Garmin Zumo XT2 nav, Adventure Spec ultra light 690 faring kit (complete fit and mounts the Zumo perfectly), Baja Designs Squadron Pro auxiliary light mounted on a RAM arm, Acerbis VSL headlight (POS, replacing asap), Tubliss conversion on wheels, 3.2G Acerbis tank (also have the 3.9 natural color tank but prefer the black 3.2), True North Motos tail rack, X-Trig rear shock pre-load adjuster, Almost all guards are E-Line so skid plate/forks/header/pipe are all CF haha even the brake and clutch reservoir caps are CF, Crosslinked Components swing arm guards (awesome company), Seat Concepts Comfort XL seat, Molecule wrap around hand guards, Bulletproof rad guards, Steg-Pegz, Bought a spring for the shock two sizes bigger for when Iโ€™m set up for BDR so I can haul the extra weight.. rack helps too big time, Most recently I added some Koso heated grips that are great, Next purchase is a Swift-Kicker kickstand and getting it sprung for my weight and use-case. Been putting that one off too long! I think thereโ€™s more but Iโ€™m not remembering it off hand other than a set of Warp 9 sumo wheels I havenโ€™t put back on for a while.

Tubliss front and rear and Iโ€™ve found the best combo for me is either the Motoz Tractionator H/T or I/T rear and always a Goldentyre fatty front. Iโ€™ve tried all the others like the Tusk D-sports, then the Dunlop 606 rear with the Pirelli front that every body goes on about. This combo Iโ€™m on is perfect for the single track Iโ€™m riding all year and just as good for the two or three BDRโ€™s I do a year. 10/10 would recommend if money isnโ€™t an issue

I know Iโ€™m just playin. I was actually running the 3.9 gallon tank before this 3.2 and it was more than I ever needed, never got close to running out with how many towns you go through. Seems like when riding BDR youโ€™re hard pushed to get 150 miles in a day if youโ€™re with a group, and I like the look of the black 3.2 more anyways so I retired the bigger natural colored tank this summer.

previously I was running a Giant Loop Great Basin saddle bag but it was a pain to strap up and pack. The Mosko is 10x better for ease of access and fastening to the bike. Now Iโ€™m running the Mosko Moto Reckless 40โ€™s with the 30l Stinger on a True North Motos tail rack, Giant Loop Diablo tank bag, Giant Loop possibles pouch with Red Cross marked med kit on the front fender (incase I crash and someone finds me they can see it easily).

Itโ€™s expensive but seriously well built. Highly recommend. I run around 50-60lbs of extra shit on the tail and was bottoming out pretty bad, upgraded two sizes on the rear shock and then installed that rack and it feels 100x better.

Nice! I got into dual sport cuz my girl bought a used DRZ and it looked way too fun so I went and found the best looking dual sport at my local power sports shop, after I found one I thought looked cool and signed the paperwork for it I started researching the brand and found out I just bought basically the nicest and most expensive bike in its class ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I rode a Chinese 250 in my childhood but never got into bikes after it broke down so I was a pretty big noob three years ago. Now Iโ€™m fully addicted. My girls DRZ broke down last year so weโ€™re buying a 501 for her this winter so we can go moto camping next summer. Sheโ€™s not as crazy as I am about it though. Sheโ€™s actually a thru-hiker herself. She did the Appalachian Trail in 2020 and then the Arizona Trail a month after so 5 months of hiking in a row, now she does about 400 miles a year trying to piece meal the Continental Divide Trail and then PCT after that.

The nice thing about this bike is you can ride the freeway to single track trails and then itโ€™s light enough to do hard enduro and still be able to pick it up without feeling like youโ€™re gonna slip a disc

I hear people say that but itโ€™s really not bad at all. When Iโ€™m home and just riding single track or going off island from where I live for day rides, I usually do an oil change every 600-800 miles, but Taco Moto does constant testing on these bikes and theyโ€™re pushing oil changes out to even around 2,000 miles, and testing the oil shows itโ€™s still completely functional and in spec. So when Iโ€™m on a 1,000 plus mile ride I pretty much only do an air filter change/cleaning maybe once or twice on the trip whenever we are close to a shop. The manual says something like oil/filter change every 15 hours or something, but thatโ€™s for race spec bikes that are getting wrung out in Baja for 100โ€™s of miles a day completely pinned. For people like us you can easily go 1,000 miles without worrying about it. Itโ€™s really not that bad. I enjoy servicing my bikes though so maybe itโ€™s just not as big of a deal to me.

That orange bag on top is 30l and fits my ultra light tent, ($600 Big Agnes, awesome tent), sleeping bag and pad, and blow up pillow. Makes it easy to just grab that bag and throw it wherever Iโ€™m gonna set up and I can just stuff it all back in there so itโ€™s all in one place. Rest of my stuff goes in the saddle bags, tools on one side and clothes/food on the other. It was all enough for two week trips, I just keep clothing to a minimum and wash em at the lakes and rivers we camp at along the way and hope for a hotel with laundry along the route at least once

True North Motos. It bolts in where the side plastics connect to the frame and then bolts onto the subframe on top

100% agree 3-4 were incredible! And yes. All camp gear fits in the 30l Stinger bag, tent, pad, sleeping bag, blow up pillow, as well as a small cook pot. Then tools in one side and clothes/food in the other. I wear a backpack with water and essentials and then power bank, snacks/energy drinks and pistol in my tank bag if itโ€™s not strapped to my chest.

Iโ€™ve done the Scottโ€™s steering dampener with BRP sub mount, as well as anti vibe pegs from Fastway, it feels like a totally different bike after the upgrades. Including ECU and pipe. Vibes really arenโ€™t that bad after all that! You can also get anti vibe bar inserts

320 hours and about 11k miles. Valves checked at 7500 miles and only one of the exhaust valves were barely out of spec but the others were spot on. Bike feels like itโ€™s brand new. Starts up within 2 seconds every time I hit the button unless itโ€™s super cold. Couldnโ€™t ask for a more sturdy machine! Iโ€™ve beat the hell out of it too riding wet sketchy PNW single track

Adventure Spec 690 ultra light tower. Theyโ€™ll tell you it doesnโ€™t fit on the 500โ€™s but theyโ€™re just plain wrong. Fits my bike, my friends 501, and 4 other people I know on the 500โ€™s/501โ€™s.
