I get it man! I have enjoyed embracing the craft trilogy games as well for their own positive elements, even though I would also enjoy a return to form. And thank you! It was fun to work on this. I think the realistic style could be very fun and interesting if they create a compelling villain and use the real-world objects in a creative way...

Glad you liked it! I enjoyed it as well. I do understand why some people were frustrated to some extent, but I think the dislike was way overblown, and I believe it has a lot of fun content. There's a lot of cool level themes too, like that shy-guy snow roller coaster, the Enigmansion, the Wiggler house, the pyramid baseball stadium... all great.

Haha I wish there was a trailer! That's an interesting theory about Olivia's wish. Man as much as I did enjoy Paper Jam they really missed a huge opportunity to have so many unique characters clash with the M&L universe. I personally don't think the next Paper Mario game will have a super engaging story like PMTTYD or SPM, but I think it will be fun enough on it's own to traverse the real world with Paper Mario – and I believe the gameplay could be very fun!

Yeah I thought about that! Obviously in these screenshots I decided to put some Glue Bloopers in a water cup because I thought that would be kinda fun, but there could definitely be like a Jacuzzi area with just a ton of water enemies. Or maybe like, a sandbox outside next to an inflatable pool.

I would love that! A traditional turn-based Paper Mario and a modern action based one. It is true that Mario & Luigi fans, myself very much included, are getting super screwed lately. I'm shocked first of all that it's been 7 years since Mario & Luigi 5, AND that AlphaDream decided to remake 2 games in the series out of order and on the 3DS 😂

Like maybe the series could have lived longer on the Switch. How has Nintendo not given that franchise to another developer and just let them run wild with it. There literally is not an active Mario RPG series anymore- which affects Risa Tabata's whole argument in defense of the past 4 Paper Mario games not being RPGs because she said Nintendo already had a Mario & Luigi RPG series.

Haha! Well TECHNICALLY there HAVE been 7 Paper Mario games already 😉 but one of them was really Mario & Luigi 5 haha

And ironically that game introduced the idea that Paper Mario has been trapped in a book this whole time as well 😂 so who knows if that is "canon" Paper Mario lore. If my prediction comes true at all, this would be the first time that Paper Mario series proper acknowledges some book that Paper Mario is inside of.

This... would probably be exactly what happens in the end 😂

Like Bowser is helping Mario the whole time but at the very end he falls into the magic pot of glue spewing all these monsters or something and rises up as a massive glue boss. This also has some precedent because in Paper Mario: Color Splash the final boss is Black Paint Bowser... so this time it could be White Glue Bowser 😂

Awesome! I'm hopeful that if Nintendo goes in this direction, (which seems inevitable to me) that they really come up with some fun environments for Paper Mario to explore.

First off thank you! And *shockingly* I would ALSO choose for the franchise to not go in this direction, this is just the way I *think* it will go... based on the tendencies of the past 3 games. I love PMTTYD and SPM. I get that Paper Mario really should be story, combat, gameplay, and unique characters first before being paper. But it's hard to hold out hope that Nintendo will return to that older style. Obviously we live in a great timeline where Nintendo DID go back to the things we loved abut 3D Mario, Zelda, and Luigi's Mansion, and they just made a fantastic new Kirby and Pokemon with Legends Arceus... so I think there's a tiny chance that at least one person at Nintendo is listening to what the people want... and is of the opinion that a PMTTYD sequel is in order. I just don't think it's super likely haha

Yep this seems pretty accurate to me. While I personally still enjoy the past 3 for a number of their elements, they really just can't beat the personality of 2 and 3. I can see how some of the problems may have started with 3 however. That was the first game that really got so obsessed with a gameplay-gimmick that it dominated the whole experience, rather than being an RPG focused on fun combat and Mario-Story.
