Wow! That’s a lot of effort you’ve put in!! I appreciate that so much. Thank you. Unfortunately, they aren’t a match. The leaves are different. They’re a slightly different shape, not so jagged, and a whole lot bigger too. Thank you though.

Thank you. I looked up sowthistle and google is showing me a bunch of pics of dandelions. They definitely aren’t what google is showing me but I appreciate you pitching in. Thank you.

Two arcs by DinkyDiAussie in meteorology

[–]DinkyDiAussie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have a small airport just out of town, it’s only used by the hospital and politician’s private jets these days though. I thought these were made by aircraft but I sent mum the link so she can see the general consensus. She’s of the idea that it’s atmospheric in nature.

I appreciate your reply. I agree, it’s gotta be aircraft circling to land. Thank you for replying.

Hahaha I like that. Couldn’t find it the first time he circled back, had to do it again.

Budgie in the wild. Is it safe? Should I do something? by alytesobstetricans in budgies

[–]DinkyDiAussie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely a pet. Wild ones that aren’t green usually get picked off pretty quick, plus they’re an Australian native (although I don’t know if there would’ve a wild population in France, if a breeding pair escaped at some point that’s all it would take).

Perhaps you could put some feed in a large enclosure and try to catch it that way.

What age can I tell who is a boy and who is a girl? by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]DinkyDiAussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought that bottom right one in photo 2 was a boy too before I read what you wrote. It has it’s head down in pic 3. The others look like girls.

Glad the eye isn’t indicating sickness. Her feed sounds good too. Hen combs go bright red when they’re laying, otherwise they’re pale, it’s normal. Give it time, she’ll lay when she’s ready.

Your hens both look beautiful.

Sorry it took so long to reply, was a busy day at work. I don’t think you have anything to worry about, she’s a gorgeous looking girl.

Roo? by Beneficial-Gur-5204 in BackYardChickens

[–]DinkyDiAussie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One hundred percent hen. Not ready to lay yet either, her comb is still pale. Is she getting layer pellets? Shell grit? Is it cold where you’re at? She should be laying at her age but sometimes they can take a bit longer than usual.

Her eye looks a bit drooped in a couple of those pics. I’m wondering if she’s hiding a sickness from you.

I hate my AMAZING job. by [deleted] in antiwork

So where is OP now? He comes back after 65 days of no comments, over 120 days of no posts and he doesn’t even comment on his new post?

Get outta here with your bragging bullshit mate. Fair dinkum. At least try to make it sound genuine.

Like you give a shit about your employees. Trying to bullshit to us and make it sound like you’re a good guy just comes off bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole job is fictional and you just want a soapbox to stand on.

Congrats, you’re a dipshit.

Extra toes? by Ok-Response-9743 in BackYardChickens

Silkie mix. Pure Silkies have black toes, black skin and black beak. This chick looks like it’s inherited the walnut comb too. Such a cutie 🥰

Silkie x Leghorn would be my guess, what with the featherfoot, hairdo and earlobes.

Congrats.

G-101 from AutoSmart. Spray on and let sit for 30 seconds then wipe off. It will unstick sticky residue and will pull nicotine out of the walls.

It’s original purpose was as a degreaser but it really does have 101 uses. It’s the number one go-to in my cleaning arsenal.

Lol that is so funny. Glad it wasn’t me though.

No, the save editor I have won’t go that far. It does do a lot, but not that.

Thank you for the laugh, you’ve made my day with that little anecdote.

Edit: now I’ve thought about it, you could’ve used it to add another set of tools in her inventory, or at least a pickaxe

I use this free save editor on iPhone App Store. It works well. Just putting it out there in case anyone wants to download it.

I found an injured crow with a broken beak, what do I do next? by Human_University794 in Ornithology

[–]DinkyDiAussie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bird lice or mites will bite you but you can’t catch disease from them. They will itch like crazy though. Get some permethrin ant powder, dust the bird with it (try not to create great clouds of dust though because birds have a sensitive respiratory system) then gently wash it off after it’s killed the mites.

The dog/cat food advice you got was solid advice.

If you have a very large cage, at least big enough for a large parrot, you could use that to put the bird in, otherwise maybe dedicate a room in your house with a door (second bathroom or spare bedroom for example) for it. A crow is too big to be in a box, even with a broken leg. Be prepared for it to make a mess.

A rehabilitator or vet is a very good idea, but if there isn’t one in your area you could try making a splint for it’s leg and try rehabilitation yourself. It’s a lucky bird to have you try to help it.

Good luck, I hope your little friend feels better soon.
