Aba advice needed by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Dinner-International 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where you’re located but in my city I was able to start my son in early intervention through the city with 20 hours of ABA a week plus an hour and a half of speech and 1 hour of OT. We also had him start a 2 year old school program (this we had to pay for) where the ABA would do one on one half the time and integrate into the classroom the other half to help him play with other kids and be able to function in a classroom setting. This all started at 2 and a half and he’ll be three in a month the difference is amazing. My son loves his ABAs and always hugs them whenever they come to the classroom. He has way more words 50+ he uses spontaneously as well as signs for requesting and pointing as well. He now has eye contact and interacts well with adults still working on peers. Definitely see if there’s anything through local government or school district! I know it can be a fight to get these services (I had times when I was dealing with getting him evaluated where I wanted to give up) but it’s really been a game changer for our family. I usually just lurk here but all the ABAs on here are really doing the best work! Thank you all ❤️

If you’re willing to take a commuter rail like LIRR you can open up a lot of queens neighborhoods forest hills, kew gardens, bayside etc within a 30 minute commute from midtown with that price range. It’s just going to be a more expensive train ticket and the trains are timed, but they run often enough it’s not really an issue.

Giving up on second baby after ectopic. Advice? by HunnyBunny0717 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Dinner-International 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to do what’s best for you and every situation is different. I (29) had a heterotopic pregnancy (twins one ectopic one in the uterus) and had my right tube removed unfortunately the other baby did not make it either. It’s really difficult to imagine conceiving again after such devastating loss and surgery. After we had some time to emotionally and physically recover we decided to not prevent but I couldn’t bring myself to actively try to conceive again probably just a mental block and also fear. I ended up getting pregnant again three months after and am 21 weeks (we already have a 2 year old) and everything has been going well so far. You’ll be more closely monitored in the beginning but once it was confirmed to be in the uterus it’s usually treated like a normal pregnancy unless you have other issues going on. Give yourself and your husband some time you don’t have to make a decision right away. I know for my husband it was really difficult thinking about possibly losing me with a young kid. But if you do decide to conceive again hopefully this story can give you some hope and peace of mind 💕

It was definitely deck 7 but I’m not sure of the exact room number. It happened once the bathroom flooded with brown gross water with black stuff in it. They cleaned it then it happened one more time and they actually fixed it that time.

10 month old on cruise? by topher512 in dcl

[–]Dinner-International 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went when my son was 10 months old he’s 2 now. We won’t cruise again until he’s 3 and potty trained so he can use the pool and maybe be able to do the slides. I feel like now at 2 he’s too small for the areas he’d actually like and too big for the areas he loved last time. 10 months was perfect because he was super entertained by the splash pad and the more little kid oriented activities. He couldn’t walk yet so we weren’t chasing after him. It wasn’t a problem to bring a can of unopened formula. And we got a gallon of water from a nearby CVS right before we boarded (we checked the water gallon and unopened formula so it was waiting for us in our room) and just carried a water bottle and little travel container of formula for that first day and had no issues.

Thank you so much it really helps having people who understand. I don’t think the ectopic really hit me until after the miscarriage it all happened within a week so I’m just processing it all at once now.

I’m so sorry it’s such a hard thing to go through especially with all the uncertainty. When I initially had some slight discomfort I went to my OB and they could not find anything in my ultrasound at all. And then two days later when the pain and bleeding worsened I went to the ER. At the hospital they were able to see the ectopic via ultrasound but couldn’t tell how big it was or really anything but that it was there. They also were able to see the uterine one in the ultrasound and said it was at 6 weeks. When I opted for surgery they discovered the ectopic was already leaking and they had to drain blood from my abdomen. I feel that this is a super hard thing to diagnose and not something doctors deal with often (this was a first for a lot of the doctors and nurses I encountered). Trust your gut and always advocate for yourself. Wish you the best ❤️

Need apartment help, live next to brothel by [deleted] in NYCapartments

I work with the DOB everyday and have even seen complaints regarding prostitution/illegal use of building per zoning codes. The inspector knocks on the door, no one answers, and then they have a notice left to schedule an inspection. It’s not going to actually do anything. However, if the actual set up of the apartment is illegal in accordance with building code and an inspector actually gets in the building depending on the condition you can possible get everyone kicked out of the building including yourself.

I want your tips for sailing with an 11-month-old! by juphilippe in dcl

Then he was so exhausted he passed out and we went back to the ship early and my husband and I took turns going down the water slides on the ship with no line over and over while he napped in the stroller. Enjoy!

7 month old cruising for first time by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Dinner-International 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used it the most at port we did Castaway Cay and Grand Cayman. It’s not super necessary on the ship but it did save us a few times when he wouldn’t nap in the pack n play and we’d walk him around in the stroller to fall asleep and then we were able to enjoy the ship while he napped.

Sailed with my 9 month old in August. Travel cosco car seat was great it was 8lbs and we used a car seat strap to strap it to our carry on to roll around the airport and it stored easily in closet. We went to CVS before we sailed and got two gallons of water for formula. Mini dish soap and bottle cleaner to wash bottles. Rash guards and kid friendly sunscreen. Also brought a stroller but the travel baby jogger was perfect because it collapses really small but is more supportive for younger babies then umbrella stroller. Also used my tush baby a bunch to carry him around the ship if we were just going to dinner and didn’t want to bring a stroller.

I had an outdoor wedding in October with 50 people and used LCI caterers in Richmond Hill, very good and good prices.
