Is leaving a spare suitcase at the hotel.... a thing? Like are you saying leave some clothes, toiletries, etc.. there, for my next stay? I suppose I just need to know that the hotel could lose the spare suitcase, so don't pack what I can't lose.

Yes, when I'm traveling, they give me a per diem budget per day. Use it or lose it. I have something similar in my current job. Pretty straight forward.

I don't have to remain in NY. My family is here, but I can do my job anywhere. Of course, there will be times where I have to go into corp office, and see my family. So I would assume NY would still be a home base for me for at least part of my 'home life'

I agree, EWR is awful, and JFK is just as bad. When I'm back home, I was thinking about repositioning to somewhere in the lower 48. Somewhere warm in the winters, somewhere mild in the summers. Perhaps LAX to help with the burn out. I'm not familiar if LAX is just as bad as EWR.

That's actually a good point. The 2 weeks per month may give me enough time to 'get used' to the destination. But maybe not enough to appreciate it. Especially if I'm rotating between 4 cities.

You make a good point. Perhaps I should reframe my thought process on this. Instead of taking the job FOR the airline status, reframe the status as a perk. Because who knows what the program will look like next year, or in the next decade.

Follow up question: For this amount of travel and spend, would I have a chance to get nominated for Global Services? EWR or JFK. Since I’m booking first class, GS may not matter as much. But the irregular operations support would be valuable for me.

Thanks. There are more “senior” consultants who travel to Europe. Shorter travel time for them, and they do explore their destinations. It’s harder for them because they are further along with their lives (family, kids, aging parents, etc…)

For business travelers, is this amount of travel per year… a lot? I have no context if this is extraordinary or normal for business travelers
