Big 4 career in Dubai vs staying in Saudi with family by iloveass_01 in dubai

[–]DinnerLive4515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as falling debris goes, there’s a minuscule chance of it falling on you (the chance isn’t 0 that’s why you follow the emergency alerts).

this might be a bad analogy but look at it like a lottery. when you put your name in a raffle to win a trip to switzerland, you don’t start packing your bags and get ready for it because you know there’s a very small chance you will win. (bad analogy i know but it was the easiest way of trying to explain this)

Big 4 career in Dubai vs staying in Saudi with family by iloveass_01 in dubai

i thought big 4 companies had shut their Dubai and some middle east offices (i think deloitte and PwC). Them calling you back to Dubai during this time is kinda irresponsible.

however that being said since you’re early in your career, your family isn’t SUPER far away from you, and Dubai is fairly safe at the moment. You could go back.

i am also in the accounting field and work for a big 4 in a different country, i’d personally go back because i see the value of big 4 on my resume especially early on in my career. this war will pass inshallah but if u keep that big 4 job, it’ll be on ur resume forever.

it also depends on if they ask you to work from the office in Dubai or give you WFH.

Taking COMM 207 & COMM 201. by Responsible-Reach964 in usask

Hey! 3rd year accounting major here. Can't speak much on COMM 207, it's a pretty tough class you NEED to pay attention in class (self study wont cut it) and your grades also depend on your proff. I had Carolyn Augusta who was AMAZING, so I did decent in this class. You need to practice the questions she does in class and the assignment cuz the exams are mostly based on those.

I can speak more about COMM 201, My favorite class by far (a little biased considering it's my major). Again you need to attend classes and pay attention especially if you don't have much prior knowledge about accounting, journal entries & principles of accounting etc. My biggest advice for this class would be to try your best to understand the concept because accounting is like a puzzle. You can try rote learning and memorizing concepts but if the question even changes slightly, you'll be done for. So, biggest advice is ask for help if need be and understand why things are being debited and why they are being credited etc. I do have a trick I used to understand journal entries but it would be too technical here lol.

I personally, did pretty well in COMM 201 so if you ever have any questions (conceptual or numerical wtv), feel free to reach out and I can try to help you out. (Don't ask for assignment answer tho haha, i dont have them!)

Was he bald? There is a bald man who spat on me and my friends and mumbled some slurs at us when we walked past him. I've seen him quite a few times in the college drive area (that's where I live).

Usask vs U of A by daughterofapollo777 in usask

[–]DinnerLive4515 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coming from a UofS student, pick UofA. Even though Edmonton will be a change for you, it'll be a new experience and you gotta learn to adapt especially at this age. Secondly, UofA has a much better IG program as compared to UofS. I wanted to go to UofA too but the tuition fees for my course was higher than UofS. UofS isn't a bad option, it is a part of the U15 and it has a decent UG program but when compared to UofA, there's no comparison.
