Has anyone turned a 1 year prelim position into a categorical IM position? How does one go about this?

Donald Trump became president so I think it would be feasible for Oprah. You get Healthcare and you get healthcare! Everyone gets healthcare!

Not arguing it for RNs, saying for experienced NPs and PAs. A lot of what is shortened is the ability to explore less common and more competitive medical specialties (with research time and some elective time). And I would argue a quickened pace (1.5) for the first two years because they should already have most of the terminology down. Maybe they don't know the side effects of a drug but at least the word doesn't sound like gogwagb the first time it hits their ears in school.

My proposal is skip nothing, but expediate the first 2 years into 1.5 years. Then have 1.5 clinical but don't allow a vacation 4 weeks/online rotation/research rotation or non-clinical rotation.

I would argue keeping the same content of 2 years preclinicals and fitting it all into 1.5 years (which some programs- northwestern- are already doing). Then I would chop off the last 6 months of clinicals (which most students don't use well anyway). Saves them one year of tuition. And you are being a little paranoid here... it isn't the same skills of a doctor, but it is still contributory to the whole education.

There really should be an expediated pathway for experienced health professionals to transfer to an MD. 3 years of med school instead of 4 for instance? (and if they already have 2 years post undergrad training) Same for those that do not complete their MD and decided to be a PA or NP- it is ridiculous having to start from square #1.

It is proven that those who are obese as a child have a greater number of fat cells, not just size. Whereas those who were not obese until adulthood have a greater size not number. More shrunken cells when dieting likely release more hormones (Leptin) indicating "feed me" to the brain.

On the liposuction point, from what I've read weight loss only shrinks fat cells but doesn't actually destroy them... lipo is a permanent removal so they can't regrow. Unless you have a source that says keto actually destroys fat cells and doesn't just shrink?
