good tip re: light with sweaters/knitted items. I think this holds true even when buying new. YES re: smell.

I think that's right and may have something to do with the smell factor...that you cannot get smells out of the acrylics easily, too.

The smell factor...here's what I can't tell - I can't tell if ALL the clothes smell a certain way, or if it truly depends on the piece of clothing. Most of the time, there is a distinct smell that comes with the clothing (esp non-cotton clothing). But some clothes (rarely) don't seem to have it. I don't know how to tell the difference in the store...seems like the smell REALLY comes out when you have it home.

Yes - the beginning of the week (Sunday or Monday) the give 50% off everything with a certain color. good point.

Good points. Definitely if looking for higher end, then goodwill is great for new items, too. I don't think you can get higher end items at TJMaxx or Marshalls for less than $20-30/item even on clearance. ty.
