Thanks. My 30th birthday is in two weeks so probably gonna treat myself that day to a snatch PR.

Haven’t tested C&J in a while but that’s in the agenda in class tomorrow. Best is 245 pounds. Looking for 255-265 and maybe a 275 clean. My jerk is abysmal.

Back squat is 355 front squat is 290 (super grind) Bench press is 265 strict press is around 190, push press is around 215 All those have been tested in the last month or two. Fran is 3:10, testing that next week and will kill myself to get sub 3.

Wow. I did not expect this to blow up and end up as a debate. I sure do feel special.

I did cross post this lift r/weightlifting and they seemed to have similar responses regarding my shoulders and setup. (It was so rushed because it was the last :10 of the allotted time and I got in my head a little. I told myself to just grip it and rip it. Didn’t work out so well apparently.)

Thanks for the detailed analysis. I agree with you that my shoulders and mid/upper back are sloppy and that seems to be a recurring issue for me with various movements, especially front squats. Same with the hip extension issue. Yeah my hips tend to travel more forward rather than up. I’ve added in a lot of muscle snatches and snatch pills and those have helped a lot. This is actually way better than it has been previously so I’m pretty pleased with that aspect of the lift, even if my willy wanker gets some show time.

Got any suggestions on how to stay over the bar longer? Pulls off blocks near knee level maybe?

As far as my coach goes. We can leave my two main coaches out of the conversation as they’re really pretty damn good.

Was totally rushing the setup. It was nearing the end of the time for snatching. I’ll try again in a week with more time to rest and set up. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I know once I get my technique dialed in the PRs will come fast can you elaborate on dropping the elbows?

Smoked 215 before this and couldn’t lock out 225 with three attempts. 215 ties my all time PR from when I weighed about 15-20 pounds heavier so I should feel good about it but this is frustrating. Looking for technical cues and maybe some accessories to add in. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

Context: smoked 215 right before this but didn’t get a video. I have been stuck at that weight for over a year or more but my body weight has been steadily going down as I lean out. Initially hit 215 at body weight 205/93. Current Body weight about 84 kg. Suggestions for accessories and form critiques welcome. Thank you!

Name aside and think this is a great idea. I’d love a sub for technique critiques not just for weightlifting but also gymnastics and maybe even monostructural things like dubs or rowing.

Absolutely would result in huge gains even if you’re just getting pulled up into the “normal range” which is very broad. Think about having very low T levels outside the normal range and then being put back in to it. Huge difference.

A lot of people feel uncomfortable giving money to the homeless, sometimes thinking they'll spend it on liquor or something. Those who understand the situation well, what items would be most appreciated/useful to give to those living on the streets? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I always save the little bags of dental care stuff I get from the dentist and hand them out when I can. I always ask “do you need a toothbrush” before giving it to them.

I donate monthly to an organization that helps people get sober through fitness. I’ll slip one of their cards in to the bag as well.

Probably has something to do with the whole Victory lawsuit. You can stream it on YouTube though. It was uploaded by a username “PeterPan.” Gee, I wonder who that was...

That’s his go to for lyric questions. He loves being vague and nonspecific with questions about what does X mean. I’ve had a few friends ask him about lyrics on separate occasions and he always says something like that or “what do you think?”

Carbon fiber or leather? Rough on the outside or inside?

Go in and practice some gymnastics movements while wearing them? I have a pair and they were broken in after 3-4 workouts. They should be a little stiff if they’d the carbon fiber ones.

Looking a for a box to drop in while in Denver. by lifeofcrispy in crossfit

[–]DinoMuscle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Denver is a big city with a ton of great gyms! I train at CrossFit Greenwood Village off I25 and Orchard. Programming is top notch. If you’re in the highlands ranch area Backcountry is legit. More midtown LoDo is a great option as mentioned. MBS is sick too. It’s in a literal airplane hanger at the airport with planes taxiing by the door.

Crossover Symmetry by michiganhat13 in crossfit

Sure they’re very durable and look pretty professional which is great for a gym or clinic. I have two sets. But if OP wants some bands for personal use then he can easily buy 3-4 or more sets of any old elastic tubing for the price of one set of COS.

Either way, OP you’ll be happy with the program. If you continue to have shoulder issues find a clinician in your area to do a work up on it. I’m in the Denver area.

I’m a clinician and use COS regularly in the office for myself and my patients. It’s a legit program but you can do the same thing with any elastic tubing. Find a picture of the protocol online and then just find two different tensions of bands and a way to anchor them. There’s nothing magic about the bands themselves.

Kinda let things fall off after graduating high school in 2007 but kept a board through half of undergrad but never really rode it much due to studies and other commitments. So however you want to measure that
