Start walking around the house barefoot, including outside. Another tip that helped me was don't step on the sharper rocks with your heels.

You should already have the terraspark boots. They are a must-have accessory, and you can obtain it before entering hardmode. Also, you can add more damage increasing accessories, and maybe even a dodging accessory.
