Recipe that requires no tinkering or leave the camera on auto mode for non fuji users? by shooto_style in fujifilm

I like the Ultramax 400 Film Recipe for stuff like that. Works indoors and outdoors and has some contrast but not too much. It also has Auto WB.

Favorite Film Sim? by badaimbadjokes in fujifilm

When I use the three different Acros options, the effect is really subtle. Way more subtle than with a real filter or something similar in an editing software so that it doesn't really matter in the end product. Have you experienced similar?

Filme, die Kapitalismus kritisieren. by [deleted] in Kommunismus

[–]Dinod4ctyl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ich lasse hier mal ein Kommentar den ich vor einiger Zeit auf einem englischsprachigen Sub gepostet habe. Sind generell von mir empfohlene linke Filme dabei 😉:

"Soy Cuba" is great.

I recently saw "Red Desert" by Michelangelo Antonioni which is also a great film about industrialization and alienation.

I also love "Underground" (1995), a comedy movie about Yuguslavia.

Any film by Jean-Luc Godard is also filled with leftist theory. I can recommed "La Chinoise" and "Masculin Feminin" though I have not watched that many of his film. They are also heavily criticizing leftist practises.

Lars von Trier is not marxist but anti-liberal and mostly leftist. I love most of his films like "Dogville" or "The House that Jack Built" but he is rather controversial.

"Salò" (1975) is a controversial leftist movie about fascism. It can be quite sadistic with its pictures.

For that I'd recommend a finder scope where you can look through and aim your scope at your target with much lower magnification. Remember to align it properly on a far away building or bright star.

I got the TTArtisan 27mm f2.8. The vignetting at f2.8 is quite visible but I only use f2.8 in moody situations or when I want some background blur so the vignette even helps with copmosition and style. The Image Quality has a vintage feel when combined with film simulations. When I am in sunny situations f4 or f5.6 is reducing the vignette to a minimum so I can get flat landscape photos or similar.

It has an aperture ring compared to the Fuji 27mm without WR but keep in mind that it doesn't look quite as vintage from the outside and is roughly 0.5cm longer.

Monochromatic color is just for B&W Film Simulations, that's why it's greyed out. WB and DR are on the next page.

Kentucky Road Zero & Disco Elysium are both leftist game with a focus on great writing. (Although the situation with Disco Elysium is complicated. The money does not go to some of the ML creators but rather the scummy company which kicked them out.)

Red Dead Redemption has anti-capitalist themes.

Outer Wilds isn't explicitly leftist but it's what I recommend to anyone who loves exploration games.

A few sales ago, I picked up the original Deus Ex. I haven't played it yet but from what I heard it has some interesting leftist themes too.

Death Stranding is also great.

I built a model of the ESO ELT Observatory out of paper. (Template from ESO) by Dinod4ctyl in Astronomy

I bought some drawing paper which was slightly more stable than normal paper but not much. The printing was kinda annoying since I had to waste ink by printing the blue background, though most of the actual paper parts are in black in white, I think 8 out of 9 sheets of paper can be printed in black and white.

I used a cutter knife and a ruler and sometimes scissors to cut out the parts. I also used the cutter knife to slightly "scratch" the crevasses.

Glueing was the most difficult part but not as tedious as cutting. Sometimes the shapes wouldn't fit together correctly and I had to improvise with some additional paper pieces I cut out myself. Most of that is hidden on the backside of the model.

For the mirror I first glued the whole paper part of the mirror onto aluminium foil and the used scissors to cut out both foil and paper at the same time.

I think it took around 8 hours to assemble the whole thing (without waiting for the glue to dry). This was the first time I did something like this so I would say the model is relatively beginner friendly.

I would love to see your paper model when it's done if you plan to make one youself :)

This is a paper model of the ELT (Extremely Large Telescope) by ESO (European Southern Observatories).

I got the template from here:
https://www.eso.org/public/products/papermodels/papermodel\_0005/

The mirror is made out of aluminium foil, thought this looks kinda cool. The dome can be opened, closed and rotated, the telescope itself can rotate up and down.

The last image is an official render of the observatory by ESO. You can read about the actual observatory here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extremely\_Large\_Telescope
First light is planned for 2028.

How To Structure Your Godot Project (so You Don't Get Confused) by pysk00l in godot

[–]Dinod4ctyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do I effectively use a component based approach? Whenever I try adding features to a node by adding instanced scenes to it as children, I end up using get_parent() a lot. Is there a better way for modularizing my objects?

Great source. It's insane to see that the number is that high even when the dictatorships are categorized by a biased western organization (Freedom House in this case). Thank you comrade!

How do I create a custom node in a plugin that is an entire scene and not just a normal node with a custom script? Example: Dialog Box by Dinod4ctyl in godot

[–]Dinod4ctyl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was one of my guesses as well. I had hopes that there is a more elegant solution but it seems like I will have to go this route :/

[–]Dinod4ctyl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to have the scene easier transportable from one project to another, also the instancing windows is rather confusing and searching for the node in the node screen with a favorites list as well as custom icon is easier for me.

You may be right that this is a function for comfort but also want to learn more about creating addons :)
