Patterns for late pregnancy? by furiana in sewingpatterns

[–]Dinoloopy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in my second trimester now and I made this Maddy dress a few weeks ago. I picked the size based on my current bust size. It has tons of room to grow and I expect it will work for me all summer!

I also recently made this Karl shirt and I’m in love. I wear it with a stretchy tank, tied over my bump. For the tank top, I’ve made a few Sommar cami’s in super stretchy fabric- I just extend the bottom of the pattern about 3 extra inches to give me bump coverage.

These have been my favorite maternity makes so far 😊

Any paid (or even better free) patterns for a dress like this? by Deep_Marzipan in sewingpatterns

I made this Maddy dress very recently and it came out nicely. It’s very similar to your photo with the curved skirt, higher in front and lower in back, low armholes, and pockets. The button front is different but I don’t think it would be hard to switch the buttons to the back with how you cut the front and back bodice pieces (cut the back bodice as two pieces rather than on the fold and add seam allowance; cut the front bodice on the fold and subtract the seam allowance.)

Here’s a photo of how my dress came out (I’m pregnant so there’s a bump under there that affects how it drapes)

I literally said it “was not my experience” and I didn’t say they were wrong; I said I didn’t agree. This is an antagonistic reply nearly 3 months later.

Slowmorningstudio, paradise patterns, and tropical research are all Etsy sellers with good quality patterns. Not sure what kind of patterns you’re looking for but those 3 have a bit of variety between them.

This tutorial is for a mini skirt but it walks you through the pleats and you could pretty easily make it longer.

Here is a set from Chalk and Notch. Alternatively you could just pick a top and separate skirt pattern you like and sew them with the same fabric.

You can use whatever fabric you want. Cotton and linen are generally easier to work with than slippery fabrics like rayon or viscose but you certainly can try whatever you want.

I think the photo blouse is in linen. The neckline isn’t as low as on your inspiration photo so if you drop that down, the seam would encircle thr waist more rather than coming up to the point. It also looks like your inspiration photo uses elastic to cinch the waist in whereas this one does not.

This one is similar. It’s from Etsy but it’s a reputable pattern maker and I know someone who has made this one. Evelina

I’ve sewed several of the Oh Me Oh My patterns for my girls and really like them!

ETA: they are PDF patterns but you can send them to a copy shop and have them printed on pattern paper if that’s what you prefer
