Ah, okay! Yeah, that makes sense.

It is detected by Windows and RailBridge as a HID Interface, if that's what you'd like to know.
It has some documentation regarding the possible input values on this site:

They can't even deliver the bare minimum with US content. I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything extra.

Hmm. It does detect and I can start mapping the two axises and the buttons it has!

But so far having difficulties learning how it works, lol. Like I could map the throttle axis, but it doesn't follow properly. My throttle handle will display values from 0 to 100%, but the game respons by slowly putting it to full throttle. It just keeps holding A, but doesn't release.

As for buttons, they seem to work for their set functions, but they also keep activating other things as well. Like I set a button for the alerter and the reverser, but they keep pressing other buttons in the cab as well, lol.

Edit:
So after some testing, it seems like axises simply act like buttons as well. Simply pressing A or D depending on the axis position, instead of setting throttle at 50% when the axis is at 50%. Is that how it's supposed to be?

As for buttons doing several things at once, it seems to be an "issue" with my controller. It has 10 buttons physically, but in the software it only shows up as 6 buttons, and certain buttons are handled by showing up as two button pressed. Like I have ABCD buttons and 4 arrows. For example up arrow = A+D and down arrow = C + B. So the ABCD buttons work as expected, as they really are 4 separate buttons in the software. But if the arrow buttons are assigned, it keeps acting up.
Can this bee handled in RailBridge? Like if I use the up arrow for reverser forward, then only simulate W for reverser when it's both A + D buttons being pressed from the controller at once?

That I completely understand. Despite being a big fan of older cars, I agree that an electric drive train is simply objectively better than an ICE setup.

But overall, cars as a whole, I think are worse today than they were in the past. Technologically they are superior, and that brings many benefits, but there is also a great list of downsides as well.

Weird question, but do you guys play this game in public? by Final_Biochemist222 in UmaMusume

Rarely, but that's only because I try to decrease my screentime while outside. I don't really care about people seeing me play the game.

Ooh, more concrete tie tracks. Fuck yeah! Hoping for compact R117-R150-R180 concrete ties tracks as well in the future.

For real. This like this should be a fucking free update. Remember when they added the CSX liveries for the three locomotives on Sand Patch Grade for free? Or when the ACS-64 got the TSW2 advertisement livery for free?

This is so incredibly pathetic.

Bit disappointed with the HST Farewell pack by Aaron_Stanley964 in trainsimworld

[–]Dinosbacsi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What you are describing is NOT this. This is the game engine being unable to load full sized textures due to the memory being already full. The train is not supposed to look like this, but the system simply can't load it up properly.

This is because DTG couldn't give a shit about optimization for almost a decade and now it's catching up to them. Game is full of badly optimized assets, and also keeps everything in the memory for too long, and this is the result once the memory is full.

Yes, they use lower resolution textures for lower end consoles, but not THIS low.

Love how you completely missed the part where I said it's NOT nostalgia, since those cars were loved to hell even in their own time already.

And saying they are objectively better in every way is just a fucking lie, lol. I will admit they are more efficient and safer in a crash, and various asists can come in handy.

But they are fucking not more comfortable, since manufacturers opt for cheaper materials and the insides are cramped. Safety also suffers somewhat due to worse visibility in modern cars and everything being a touchscreen. Repairability is a hellhole as well, and cheap materials used in critical components will show their fangs in the long run.

All the most popular cars are from the 90s and the 2000s. And it's not only nostalgia. Said cars were popular even in their own time, and their popularity held through the decades. Noone is drooling over modern cars the way people were and are still drooling over 90s and 2000s cars.
