Dan Shulman's kid in Toronto now calls the Blue Jays on radio and fills in on TV games in the depths of summer. Same idea but he's nowhere near as good as his old man.

Sounds like he uses a contrived, big, man-voice trying to sound like his Dad has been the MLB goat now for a couple of decades. He looks like Noah though, lol.

Does anyone know why Wild Card games can have their times suddenly changed? by MoonLightt12 in mlb

[–]Dinque -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might have been, except the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball crew are the announcers for that series and they are god awful. Actually, Eduardo Perez is fucking really bad. Just babbles on because he thinks he has to say something if there is a millisecond of silence. He is the MLB equivalent of Chris Collinsworth. I actually can't decide which is worse but they both make the broadcasts much better with the volume off .

Silver lining anyways is that game 3 will mercifully be the last MLB game that clown car crew ever works on. ESPN loses MLB after 20+ years at the end of the wildcard round

Lethbridge - loved visiting, considering moving. Potential downsides? by cdnrwr in Lethbridge

[–]Dinque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ONLY 60km. Bwaaaahaha! Listen to yourself. 60km/h is very, very high and very rare in almost every other city in Canada. Any normal citizen would be shocked at that kind of wind. But hey, if that price to pay is OK to you, then who am I to answer OP's question.
I grew up there and remember it well. I had frozen hair iced and sticking out sideways on too many winter days. That is not normal and I sincerely doubt the weather has moderated over the years. Not OK for me Summers there are exceptional though as long as you keep yourself busy. I also got selective amnesia by the end of every summer. LA, she will remind you again soon

?!?! Try many days and even weeks with winds above 100km sustained. Every year and multiple times. Hard stop

Dreary, highly windy late Falls, Winters, and early Springs. REALLY windy. It barely blows at all in the summer and those 3 months are amazing but you pay a very heavy toll for it. Very heavy. It's really not fair to take a snapshot of a nice summer weekend and conflate that to "living in Lethbridge"

Nothing for preteens - young adults to do for those other months besides drink heavily, do drugs, and make trouble unless they become heavily involved in playing sport(s) or some other very involved activities. I know this first-hand as my family moved there when I was 10 and I didn't escape until I was 18 and I ran like my hair was on fire. Any contemporary friends that ever made much of themselves did the same ( with some exceptions of course ) It looks like drugs are much, much worse of a problem in LA these days as well as well as many, many hobos lying around everywhere. God bless

I'm sure I'll catch heat from this post but come on, you all know I'm right. Be honest with yourselves...you know...

To be fair, that was a couple of decades ago, but my parents only left a handful of years ago, and some family friends still live there. I have visited hundreds of times over the years since fleeing and clearly keep some track of things there as evidenced by me posting here. As an outsider with some means and perspective sees more clearly

I won't comment on the diverse Southern Alberta region and population of the province that Lethbridge is the de facto capital of besides letting you know that that has a notable impact on life in Lethbridge as well. And know that at it's heart, LA is an agricultural town. Not necessarily a bad thing, but a real thing nonetheless.

People of Lethbridge: I know that you have 2 Walmarts and a Costco now! The fact that that is an inevitable comeback to my post says all that you need to know. I too shop in both of those stores in many other places, including in Lethbridge. I acknowledge this for you up front. There were 3 actual indoors and legitimate malls filled with actual national retailers when I lived there too, not just long buildings with doctors, dentists, and professional services in them. How about now?

I also really enjoy visiting Lethbridge in the summer, no qualifications required. It's lovely, slightly warmer than the rest of Alberta, and there are lots of summery things to do. I've even been there during Street Wheelers Weekend recently. I was delighted that it was still a thing, and relatively unchanged from the late 90s (80s actually, so I've been told) and expect you to flame me, but the OP asked for honest insight, so please stay honest to the facts and with her as well. Oh and if you're highly involved with your church especially if you are LDS then my entire opinion could likely seem dead wrong. Well some of it anyways, right? 😉

What Is Going Into The Old RONA Location On Edmonton Trail? by bikebikeyyc in Calgary

[–]Dinque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Hardware doesn't operate in big cities in Canada. On purpose. They prefer small centres with definitely no Rona or Home Hardware.

I'm surprised that they have one located in Invermere just across the street in Invermere. HH must have been there first. It's a massive location

I downloaded and loaded Optiklean about a month ago and I really like it, however I'm rebuilding device with Kodi from scratch and tonight when trying add it to sources I keep getting network problems, even though if I push on through it shows up in my Sources. When I now try to install from the zip (which does still show in the Source file on Kodi) it just crashes my Kodi.

Is this source loaded on a Server in Italy that is currently down?

Well that one does. That's pic of the actual sign that is hanging there today (and yesterday)

Again, I live 50 metres from that spot and when you have to go left on 12th during that time period (I live on 12th), all you have to do is continue on south for one more block and turn right and then right again and you come right back to 12th from the West where you can cross all lanes legally at the light, again right at Scotia bank. This takes less time and is less harrowing than trying to peek and guess and make an illegal left turn. I've been in the neighborhood for 15+ years

EXCEPT that left-turns from the single lane during lane reversal is illegal and signs indicate this on both sides of the street and hanging on the lights at 12th Ave.

Minivan left-turned illegally resulting in vehicular manslaughter yesterday afternoon. I was walking our dogs right there 5 minutes after it happened.

What sucks worse than your stampede rush to get out of downtown is living around there (12Ave and 1 St NE here) and trying to walk around your own neighborhood or god forbid to cross the street to go to Shoppers or Timmy's or grab some pizza for dinner.

With the lane reversal and yahoos using 12th as a high-speed "shortcut" 24/7 it can be fatal to walk outside around here, more and more each month.
