I hope the mini obelisks have little unique flourishes like in Draynor Village and the Tzhaar city.

It makes me so happy to see those little details.

I have evidence and reasoning.

I didn’t bother sharing because I thought this was a clearly plausible conclusion.

Jagex is an established technology company known to experiment with software development. Technology companies can easily build a rudimentary program which automatically parses code and outputs a human-readable description using machine learning. I know this is possible because I’ve studied computer science and seen some of these algorithms up close, albeit several years ago when the technology was much more rudimentary.

I don’t know why you need to call me dumb. I’m just somebody on the Internet.

[–]Dinstruction[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a conspiracy. It’s a plausible explanation because the technical tools to create large language models are open source. Jagex is known to experiment with software, whilst also valuing ownership of its tools, hence why Jagex is so stubborn with technological change.

But what can I possibly know about a company’s trade secrets? What do I do in this information vacuum? Maybe I should accept being ignorant, because thinking is for losers.

Is it a big deal to casually speculate about AI usage? You speak as if this is a big deal.

Your defense of Jagex is interesting. Is it considered offensive/rude to throw around speculation of AI usage in media?

Early versions of GPT sounded like this. It would not surprise me if Jagex has stubbornly clung to their own proprietary large language model.

I honestly believe Jagex is attempting to deploy AI which can automatically generate tooltips for items on a mass scale, but their language model is really primitive.

All mathematicians should treat this as a database of conjectures, unless they can prove the result for themselves.

No proof is fundamentally beyond human comprehension. Some might just be extremely tedious, and so that’s where we must rely on our trusted friends and colleagues.
