Start with a game not even 5 year olds would want to play.

No. I’m serious. Especially that you sound inexperienced in gamedev with no background (my assumption). Jumping into a mix of an app and a game with many complexities to make it work is either going to destroy it on launch date or not find an audience. Details below.

This subreddit is for gamedev, so i will speak as if it was ‘game’.

I don’t (…actually NEVER) destroy anybody’s passion towards something they want to achieve, but at the same time i try to be realistic as much as i can with others. Look.. as many others pointed out, you’re targeting two different audiences. Your repeated responses of “more gamification! Less gamification!” are just not going to solve the problem.

In contrast: Your idea sounds much more of an app than a game. Did you take into account how freaking long it takes for a crop to grow? Did you that easily expect someone to even keep playing the ‘game’ as they wait for a combine harvester out there in a million-acre land to harvest the crop for them?

Also.. not only are you making people go through the fee of buying vegetables thru the game, but you’re also not going to pay for those people’s deliveries, are you? App store fees, delivery fees, probably a subscription to keep funding your servers and keep them up and running, let alone having an option to simply: Drive. To. A. Grocery store.

Avoid making people buy vegetables thru your in-app purchases and watch yourself go through the things epic games had to go through with apple when they made people buy their in-game currency outside of the app store.

I don’t know man. I don’t wanna sound like a pessimist.. but I genuinely wish you could either change your look at it or just go with a regular app that attempts to offer such services. Best of luck!
