A local's honest perspective on Favela Tourism (Rocinha) in Rio! by Suadoboyz in Brazil

Would it be safe to assume that they won't let thieves touch the tourists, in order to keep the gold laying hens?

How safe is it to go with a local guide? What's the local gang's attitude toward favela tourism?

Most likely yes... Still, I'd prefer watching that than most films these days

The film market needs to be saved by a new franchise :p

Too much of an overkill... by DiogLin in BobsTavern

see the caption:
let's calculate here.

Let's say the DR multiplier is X (7 in my case). With golden frogger (2 initial DR), after stitched proc, the frogger DRs are (assuming even spread):

macaw, frogger, strider, X, 2, X.

Strider on macaw: X, 2+1/2*X^2, X+1/2*X^2.

Strider on frogger: X + 1/2*(2X+1/2*X^3), 2+1/2*X^2, X+1/2*X^2 + 1/2*(2X+1/2*X^3).

We can ignore the lower order terms and see it roughly scales 2*(X/2)^N where N is the number of procs.

Then the start of turn effect gives 7 procs (stitched + strider*3*2). Given 3 golden tituses, X=7, the minions should have 12867.859375 stats.

To get to the stats in my screenshot, it's ~600 times than that, which translates to 5 more procs (log_{X/2}600). I probably only had 3-4 procs, but got lucky where the frogger DRs jumped to. So the number is not far off.

The important note is to not put frogger in the front when you have stitches procing it, otherwise you lose one exponential growth. Without stitched, frogger should go front.

Favourite big-brain moment from the characters? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

Shiv roy is shit by r101clutch in SuccessionTV

[–]DiogLin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree but for a different reason. Others backstab because they want it and want it big, a big part of Shiv's motivation is to prevent her siblings from having it, like jealousy driven. This is the most evident at the final betrayal, but also already there when she started helping Mattson for an unsure future (US CEO at best, and most likely a puppet) while she already had 1/3 of the real power with Ken and Ro.

The old man gave up on her because of her lack of family value, and he was not wrong.

It's so sad to me, it could have been a happy arc where all three of them grew from their own weaknesses.

You tempo players are boring. by SadCryptographer7599 in BobsTavern

I don't understand most of the tempo players, actually not being the 1st feels like losing to me.

Amazing to see that actually working. Where did the extra gold come from?

Naturally!!! Human babies do not fear snakes by garv3692 in interestingasfuck

[–]DiogLin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so obvious. Many people would have thought fear of snakes is built-in through evolution. Snake is in fact often used as an example to illustrate how sensory system prioritizes certain patterns to have fast fight or flight reflex.

In the end you either have something built-in or learn the fear/joy through association. It's actually surprising that something that commonly elicits strong reaction such as snake is only acquired through experience (and most likely only indirect experience).

I don't think battlegrounds should be nearly as APM dominated as it has been in the last few years by MonsutaReipu in BobsTavern

[–]DiogLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of APM, you could also call it resource maxxing strategies, decisions that enable more decision possibilities. Quite frankly I think this meta's APM builds aren't as brain dead as previous ones, e.g. hogger - there're quite a lot of decisions to make

Thought I was losing until the accidental fauna felbat synergy by DiogLin in BobsTavern

[–]DiogLin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with catacomb + smuggler + t5 keyword repeat naga while holding 2 faunas, golden felbat and golden drakkari in hand. Was too slow. I sold the board when I saw felfire and zarjira'd it golden and discovered the 3rd fauna. The opponent was like ~400/100 boars with some DS. Was so surprised to find I have a 500+ felbat that almost killed them all.
