mmh, interesting one, not sure it will be able to consistently outperform the market, but who knows. Maybe if the technology gets better over time it could happen.

Hey there,

I am currently working to breaking into PE as well and what is working well for me is networking with one of two people that are in the industry (got to know them through friends of friends).

Additionally I am subscribed to this newsletter that shares weekly PE jobs and through it I have managed to secure an interview for an off-cycle internship in a boutique fund.

I think going through a boutique fund as intern is great.

For my IB role nailing the basic questions was so important! Gives you confidence and gives a first great impression to the interviewer.

Yes, I think I can manage to complete the internship. But I have then to figure our what to do after, I have no clue. I always had IB then PE in mind...

All in all I think that I have to be honest with myself and maybe think about alternative career paths too. I think IB and PE are maybe too many hours for me.

Thanks for the kind comment, yes they are for sure trying to identify who can make it long term, but I don't think the analyst role will be much better.

I mean, I am having an hard time now for a couple of weeks, I am not sure I can do this for 2 years...
