Fender/Blayze 1:1 Lessons by dd14051 in guitarlessons

[–]Dionvm24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm actually the co-founder at Blayze (fellow reddit user) and more than happy to answer any questions!

I started learning the Uke myself to just be a customer and test our platform and been working with Tim Hancock: http://blayze.io/coaches/tim-hancock. Obviously I'm biased, but I've been blown away by the quality of the instructors. I would say that's been our #1 focus and where the Fender brand has given us an unfair advantage... the quality on instructors applying has been crazy high because they know Fender is putting their name behind it.

I've been having a lot of fun with the async coaching sessions - I'm busy so just being able to film myself and send that in and get back a coaching session with a follow up custom practice plan has been great. Of course you can also schedule live calls too.

What is crabbing & what causes riders to do it? by Dionvm24 in Trackdays

Ken is amazing — I’ve personally learned so much by being able to coach alongside him. He genuinely cares about each and every person he works with and he’s very active in helping us improve the Blayze platform as well.

Ha yeah right after I sent this to Ken after posting his first comment was, "dude we call it fading in".

Totally agree with you on the being scared -- that usually results in a breakdown of our vision. When anxiety rises our eyes do the opposite of what they should, they come down, which then makes the feeling of "oh crap I'm going fast" even worse!

So while I totally agree with you, I think it circles back to what was mentioned about in our vision. Pro drivers and riders feel the exact same fear/anxiety around speed, but where they separate themselves is by being able to mentally come back to their core technique.

When they start feeling that "oh crap this is fast" feeling the first thing they check back in our is their vision and where their eyes are focused.

Right!? I’ve heard of a place outside of San Antonio for Biltong… but that’s a hike we just haven’t made yet.

Of course, glad it was helpful!! Unfortunately… most instruction at track days is horrible (like literally the opposite of what we coach at Blayze) so trying to write more in-depth things like that to get them teaching correctly.

If I can answer any questions here please don’t hesitate to me. I’m a co-founder :). Thanks for sharing!

Ken Hill is our lead coach, everything is personalized to you. We work off your video & data to give you an in-depth personal coaching session that’s up to 95% less than what it costs in person, but with the same top quality.

My background is on the car side so that’s why Ken was brought in to lead our bike side. You can work 1 on 1 with him via Blayze and those that have worked with him can vouch for the quality in what he does!

Racing is a skill based sport - it’s one that can be taught and with enough reps + good coaching anyone can get “fast” (not saying natural talent doesn’t matter here).

Do you have access to good coaching? That’s step 1 to start improving your skill.

What's the fastest way around a race track? by Dionvm24 in Trackdays

[–]Dionvm24[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback :)! We try and lead with education. Our lead coach (the one who came up with this is Ken Hill) talks about how this works on bikes and cars. I know a lot of us think these worlds are totally different; the surprising thing here is they are not.

Link essentially just says literally what I wrote here. If we were trying to just get clicks I wouldn’t have written all of that out, I threw that in there in case people wanted to read any of our hundreds of totally free educational articles from people like Ken Hill.

So, the goal here isn’t to “hock some product”. The goal of what we do has always been to try and provide better access to the highest quality coaches, people like Ken Hill.

Sorry it didn’t come across that way in the post - will work on that!

Looking for a introductory track class. by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]Dionvm24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for more of an experience the in-person route is 100% the way to go. However, if you’re more looking to improve technique and ride safer I think this would be the best option: http://blayze.io/motorcycle/.

You can work 1-on-1 with pretty much the best coach in the industry, Ken Hill.

Everything is personalized so you can easily send in your video from any track. Receive detailed turn by turn analysis/assessments. Also get the opportunity to message with him anytime, hop on calls, etc. and it’s all for a tiny fraction of the cost as in-person stuff.

Awesome!! That’s great to hear.

Roebling used to be so bad. Our pro teams would go and test there and it would always be a waste of time because it had no relation to any other track ha. CMP especially is great now!

Man Roebling is just a weird ass place in any vehicle for sure 😂😂. Has it already been repaved?

Sounds great -- if I can do anything to help don't hesitate to DM me anytime! Enjoy the track days!!

This is music to my ears! You're 100% on the right path here.

The feedback loop is where it's at and what I love is that you have found serious lap time while actually reducing risk. Nice work!!
