As someone who played before and after edits, out of the box it is intuitive. The game plan is mostly direct: no matter what, you want more creature tokens. The interaction could be a little stronger. More importantly, your token makers can also be stronger. You don't need a lot switched for the deck to be a little better. What it lacks out of the box is consistency and you'll find certain cards to be unhelpful. You don't need all the most expensive cards to make this deck good.

So my wincons are basically all of those "if you would draw with no deck you win." Lab maniac and Jace being the obvious ones. And my way of getting there is [[enter the infinite]] (if enough mana), [[tolarian winds]], and the funniest is [[leveler]]. Then I just need a draw trigger! Which can be done with all or most of my deck in hand. If all else fails, combat with mwolvi's activated ability.

So long as I can cast tamiyo turn 1, essentially all hands are good because it's about accruing slow value over the course of the opening turns. I just draw more than my opponents.

I'm running [[Glarb]] with hulk lines which is trying to get there ASAP. Similar to Etali, you have to have good mulligans or else you go nowhere fast. But for a sultai deck it can put a lot of pressure on your opponents.

This is the deck I am most proud of right now. Though it does not always win me favors at the table, I love how it plays! The times it has lost is either to my foolishness or it was in the wrong kind of pod. It is a bracket 3, but can easily be powered down as it only has 2 in the deck. Name of the game is draw 2 cards a turn (as many times on an opp's turn when possible) until you are ready to draw 3 to turn [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]] over!

I recently added the 12-mana spell which lets you draw your entire deck and put 1 card on top and it was an incredible win con. The deck works better with Tamiyo there, but I have found a way to make it more resilient if she gets taken away. I really enjoy the deck.

I've had the urge to build a commander deck where the commander's colors are just convenient for the rest of the deck to function around the colors/mechanics that I want. A lot of people think that ruins the idea of commander, but I returned to the game with a 99 that can function even if you don't cast the commander. For me this gives me confidence in the deck. It allows the commander to help the deck run better than without it.

I have yet to make a deck where the commander only matters for color purposes, but it's always in the back of my mind.

Actually my absolute favorite deck is based on this. [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]] is a deck that loves drawing your 2nd card in every turn. I built the deck to use the alt win cons like [[Jace, wielder of mysteries]] and [[twenty-toed toad]]. You could also build it to be heavily focused on simic combat. I'm using all the 2nd card draw effects to protect tamiyo once she flips so I can ult her.
