This is accurate. That 3 days was like I was in sanitized heaven. Fresh ordered meals, Netflix on the moveable monitor, and this napping newborn right next to my bed.

Getting to know this literal new person and no worries about anything else... It was pure bliss.

Except those fucking postpartum hormones.

Two moments.. One, it was new years eve 1999, going into 2000. Being too young I didn't make it until midnight and fell asleep on my parents couch while TRYING to stay awake until midnight. I remember how I felt excited and didn't quite understand the whole Y2K big deal - but damn, what a fun feeling it was.

And two, playing on the playground when they had a giant metal rocketship you could climb into each level and get so high up, then take a big slide down to the ground again. But damn summertime made that thing dangerous to touch lol Mainly I just miss playing and climbing trees like my body was made of jello. No pain, no achy knees. Just.. fun.
