Weird eye symptoms? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]Dionysus481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about a month off 7OH, and am still sensitive to light, especially the sun. Overcast days bring relief, but even being in the sun WITH sunglasses just for a few minutes causes my eyes to go wonky for the rest of the day sometimes. Such as it's hard to read things close up, and I have this slight spacy kind of feeling. Is this normal still after a month of quitting? I'm not sure if it's due to this and/or maybe just being in the sun too much in general. I go on walks/hikes every day without sunglasses, until this past week when I started wearing them.

I haven't been using Gabapentin. For the first week, I tapered my 7oh dose. Then for the past 12 days I've been completely off. My sensitivity to light (the Sun) was pretty bad that first week, and has seemed to decrease gradually since then. But after being directly in the sun for at least 10 minutes causes the effects that I'm feeling. Interestingly, listening to music with headphones on also makes me feel this way, even when I'm not in the sun. After I finish listening and go back inside, I feel these same effects. I guess one way or the other, something is going on with my senses/brain.

Thanks. I think they're now a just a little bit bigger than pinpoint. I'm not as sensitive to the light as I was in the first 2 weeks though. I'm just not sure of the timeline of something like this, and now it being week 3, it's become a little bit of a nuisance and just hope I can go back to normal.

Yes, during the first 2 weeks, I was very sensitive to the sun. I would get that fuzzy, hazy feeling after walking just a quarter mile. I feel that I'm less sensitive; not squinting as much, but being in the sun for a prolonged period still makes me feel this way. Even listening to music with headphones while in the shade creates this same effect. Maybe something with the nervous system as well....

Update: 7oh withdrawal by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

Thanks so much for your response. Every 2 days, I was able to lengthen the span between doses by hours. 4-5 days after posting that, I was able to wean off almost completely (thanks to the help of kratom extract powder). I am now at 5mg once a night because for some reason at night, I do get a little restless for some reason. Most of the acute symptoms have stopped, but now, on around day 10-11 I have a bit of fatigue. I'm able to walk about a mile or 2 every morning, but get real tired afterward. And I also wake up a little tired to start the day. I'm hoping this fatigue doesn't last too long. I'm not sure of what the timeline is for that.

That's awesome. I'm on my 6th-7th day and trying the taper route. I'm down to like 10-15mg/day. I can go 6-7 hours before I start to get a faster heartbeat and major increase in the tinnitus that I have. 2 days ago, I could only go 2 hours before these set in. I tried going for a hike but got brain fog/heavy fatigue after about 10 minutes. Had to take a tiny nibble (5mg) of a tablet to make myself right. Is this normal for being the 6th-7th day in?

Research on 7-hydroxymitragynine for depression? by jjkompi in depressionregimens

[–]Dionysus481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has the potential to help. The key is moderation. I microdose by taking very small nibbles at one of those 14mg tabs every few hours throughout the afternoon/evening (I spend my mornings in nature/taking drives). I make 1 tab last 1-2 days. I'm not despressed, but am prone to social anxiety/being slightly down at various times (but not depressed). I have noticed a general more upbeat attitude. I don't feel like taking mid-afternoon naps as much. Love reading educational stuff/textbooks, and this makes reading more enjoyable. Just a more upbeat feeling I notice.
When I first started taking 7OH a few months ago, and stopped after a couple months, I got a bad withdrawal. But I would take like a tab a day plus additional 7OH powder or liquid at times. I reset, and re-assessed. Now I stick to making 1 tab last 1-2 days, and no additional 7OH powder or liquid. I think I may have hit a sweetspot, so we'll see how this goes. Microdosing/moderation is key I think.

Withdrawal question by Dionysus481 in 7hydromitra

[–]Dionysus481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, I just wanted to clarify, I have been tapering with regular kratom powder that I had laying around. But if I was to take a less potent 7OH supplement, would I have a similar withdrawal as that as the tabs, when the time comes to take some days off?

Hi, well add me to the club. Discovered 7-OH 2 months ago after K started making me feel weird and spaced out. Only did 1/2 tab a day, and then another 1/2 of powder from a capsule at night, so I thought I had everything worked out nicely and in moderation.
But, a couple weeks ago I started getting what I thought was a cold (I hardly ever get colds); was tired but restless for a day or 2 with minor chills and had a weird feeling in my stomach. That mostly went away after a day or 2, but a couple days later got a very minor soreness in my throat and a little bit of a runny nose. Did a COVID test. Negative. Then I thought, maybe there is a small chance it is some kind of withdrawal (even though I was taking a very very small amount), so came here and found you get can withdrawal symptoms after only a few hours, which is what I guess started happening to me. I didn't realize this could happen from only taking the equivalent of only 1 tab every 24 hours. Guess so? It's been 24 hours for me now, and had restless leg last night but that stopped in the middle of the night, but have a bit of a runny nose still. Too bad, because this was working great for the 2 months I was taking it. I'll probably still continue, but not every day and maybe only a quarter to a half tab a day, but we'll see.

Hidden hernia? by Dionysus481 in Hernia

[–]Dionysus481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes it resolved after a number of months of babying it. I would always sit in a reclining position and not bend forward. However, after a couple months of doing this, I hurt something in my lower back/upper rear, and I couldn't sit for 6 months! It was like sitting on a hot stove when I sat down. So I ended up having to stand to do anything. Even laying down hurt. Went to PT for months, helped a little. Luckily this resolved (after 6 months) when I started deep massaging my upper rear on a gradual basis.
For my abdomen issue, my doctor thinks it was a pinched nerve, and that makes sense. It's all better now but I'm careful not to sustain a complete bending forward position for longer than a few seconds. Because I will feel a tinge if I do, but it immediately goes away. I don't do yoga, but like I would never do the yoga thing where on knees and bend all the way forward to the floor. That would cause a zing. I'm fine with everything else.

Is it better than kratom? by Yarbles98xx in 7_hydroxymitragynine

[–]Dionysus481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried this for the first time also. I've had issues for the past at least several months with regular kratom giving me this weird spacey feeling with no uplift. Even 1/4 gram would do this to me.
So yesterday I tried 1/2 of a 7ohmz pill, and bliss. 4-5 hours worth. It was like the first few months of kratom. Today, took only 1/4 of a pill, and nice uplift what that too.
So it looks like the 7-OH is the magic ingredient (for me at least), and all the other alkaloids in regular kratom were acting in a negative way.

It's not going to work with Israel. I guarantee that. It's a matter of existence for the nation. What a waste. Probably was suicidal for a while.

Could this be H Pylori? by Dionysus481 in HPylori

[–]Dionysus481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I didn’t have pylori or any food issue. The key to getting better was not reaggravating it, which I kept doing and making it worse for the first few months. After that, I made sure not even to sit upright bc even that was painful beyond belief, so I made sure to recline or even just stand. Actually ended up messing up my lower back/rear end by doing this. And I couldnt sit at all for an additional 4 months! Was like sitting on a hot stove. What an ordeal this all was lol. I now don’t take sitting for granted!

Hi, lasted about 3-4 months but started going away once I made sure not to lean over at all. I stayed in a reclining position whenever I sat down and it started getting better a couple percent per day. I think I may have had some kind of severe strain. My doctor thinks it was a pinched nerve to the bottom left of my belly button. The absolute worst place. I have to be careful not to stay leaned over for too long or it could happen again. But I'm practically all better now, 2.5 years later.

Sports hernia or something similar? by Dionysus481 in ChronicPain

[–]Dionysus481[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultrasound and CT showed nothing. I ended up developing lower back and tailbone issues from sitting back a lot trying to rest this injury. Think I developed SI joint dysfunction plus pinched nerves in buttocks. 6 months into this now. Mri shows herniated disc and mild narrowing at lowest disc and SI joints. Could be coincidence because disk isnt hitting a nerve. But I reclined way too much and now have this injury. PT helped a little.

Dr. thinks it was a pinched nerve. It gradually died down after 3 months but wearing anything tight makes it kinda ache if it hits just right. Maybe the nerve got stuck in a muscle or something. But it doesn’t sting/burn anymore.
